Mitt Romney has stopped the bleeding and Newt Gingrich appears to have lost some momentum from his South Carolina primary victory. Both men can take something from this latest poll to come out of the Sunshine state which shows the candidates tied at 35% each. Rick Santorum came in a distant third with 9% and Ron Paul scored 8% in the Dixie Strategies/First Coast News survey

Sarah please hop a plane to Florida and endorse Newt!
Who posted this poll
It is old news and not current ( post debate and Romney ad blitz)
Try reading the thing before using a irrelevant poll
Sleep on it Rick, you gotta have a conscious
Don’t forget the MSM said it was all wrapped up the night of the NH vote...they will spin this one even harder.
Come on, Rick, do the right thing.
I should add the last up to date polls that were posted here yesterday had Newt behind
So what? You need folks at crunch time not after you made the touchdown. All of conservative talk has been weak...they do not want to lose access or audience. Levin is the only one to really lay into Romney consistently but even he has been found wanting at times.
They all harp this better candidate crap...what a load. It's about Romney being forced on us.
At least Palin saw this as not making a better candidate but a warping of the system with the FOX-Drudge shenanigans
Since Santorum has gone home and left Florida are his supporters to conclude he has thrown in the towel? Ron Paul is still in the state giving it his best and honoring his supporters. Santorum has just thrown in the towel on Florida. Will his 9% support in Florida gravitate towards Newt since Santorum’s supporters may realize that a vote for Santorum now is wasted and his supporters want to vote for the not-Romeny candidate. If so, Santorum’s decision to leave the state is a decisions to free his supporters to vote for whomever they want to. Santorum just does not want to endorse.
The poll showing Newt tied with Romney occurred before Santorum decide do abandon Florida. If those 9% Santorum supporters gravitate to Newt that may be the edge necessary to tip Newt over the top.
Not so sure Mitt stopped the bleeding. Me thinks he merely slowed it down since he was suppposedly 9 pts ahead of Newt just a day or two ago.
Beware of the spin zone.
I love watching CNN after a statist meltdown. My vice.
Jan 23-25 not a new poll.

I think Santorum is angling to be Mitt’s VP. He might offset the anti-Mormon vote.

Excellent observation. I completely agree.
WORSE than they did with McCain.
I hear Michael Reagan is going to Florida this weekend. Perhaps he’s already there with Newt?

i don’t think santorum has any such plans.
If Romney gets the nomination, I will stay home. Period, for the first time in my voting life. The GOPE can stick it! Romney is a TROJAN HORSE, Liberal Socialist, and the GOP does not want to even consider that possibility so they won’t even try to see Romney for what he is.
I would rather see this entire corrupt party torn down and ruined. This is the only way it can be rebuilt or fixed. It has to fail miserably first, for that to happen.
****Heres my prediction, if Newt can pull out a win in FL, Rush will jump on board.****
You are probably correct. Rush touts himself as influential and right now - because the race is so volatile, he’s hedging his bets. Not principled - but a business decision. He is, after all, an entertainer. If not in front of the curve - Rush wants to appear to be in the driver’s seat heading round the curve.
That - or he has gone completely around the bend;)
In all Reality, Santorum is nearly out of money and does not have enough left to keep going until next Tuesday.
I only wish he would have been honest and did the right thing, similar to what Perry did. I firmly believe that Santorum may have cut a deal with Romney to take Newt down.
