He was the ETERNAL atonement for mankind’s sins (past, present and to come, including Adam’s and Eve’s) and the act is described in the New Testament.

I am aware of the situation of throwing a remark onto a thread, and then being trapped into having to answer challenge after challenge to something that you didn’t even say, and somehow getting trapped into the role of appearing to defend something that you don’t even support.

Go to the religion page and you will find many Mormon experts to discuss Mormonism with, including at least one ex-Bishop, (I think more than one).
