He was the ETERNAL atonement for mankind’s sins (past, present and to come, including Adam’s and Eve’s) and the act is described in the New Testament.

Go to the religion page and you will find many Mormon experts to discuss Mormonism with, including at least one ex-Bishop, (I think more than one).
