I do not take stock in the Encyclopedia Britannica prior to 1826 in order to clarify the definition of "indigenes". The reasons are twofold:

• This encyclopedia was based on British law
• This encyclopedia was funded by a grant from the British crown to compete with the French edition.

So you are saying that there is a difference between the natives vs the naturals?
