On Healthcare Reform, That's Not the Patient on the Table

On January 20, 2012, the Obama administration announced a clarification – one of many – on its requirement that all insurance policies must cover contraceptives, sterilization, abortions, and abortion-causing drugs (such as RU-486).

From the beginning, there had been a foolish assumption that Obamacare would not cover abortion – Bart Stupak and others even voted for it on the president’s commitment that it would not. As if anyone with an ounce of sense would ever believe that this president would ever take a position contrary to one of his party’s most dependable and key constituents, the abortion lobby.

When, over the course of 2011, it gradually became clear that the bill would indeed require insurance companies to cover such things, the next foolish assumption was that surely they would carve out an exception for the Catholic Church, and others of faith, who after all have numerous theological objections to their money being used for such things.

By the commencement of the president’s fourth year in office, however, it became clear that a statement must be made, and so on January 20th, it was announced that only churches would be allowed to have insurance programs that leave out these objectionable items. Any charity they operate, however, must provide abortion, contraception, sterilization, and the do-it-yourself kit as well.

“Our very nation has been wheeled into the operating room, anaesthetized by soothing television anchors and fifth columnists in corrupt journalism, marked for surgery and doused with alcohol, with the intention of removing some of our most vital organs – our religious freedom, our economic freedom, our individual liberty.”

Sums it up very nicely indeed.

Think it through - no rational people, even Leftists, believe that people who are anti-abortion for religious or moral reasons are going to suddenly drop their objections and trash their own faith simply and literally because Obama says so.

There is no way even Obama believes that. Yet, he and his people are doing this anyway.

Which means their goal is to try to benefit from the guaranteed rebellion against this totalitarian, anti-first-amendment policy.

This isn't an Obama strategy - it's a Leftist strategy. And far from being hidden, it's bragged about and taught in every university in the country.
