Pop quiz: Which Republican presidential candidate supported the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor?
Hint: It’s the same one who endorsed a pro-abortion-rights presidential candidate in an earlier campaign.
Give up? The answer is Rick Santorum.

Santorum not only supported Specter. He ran an ad for him.
“Arlen is with us on the votes that matter,” Santorum said in an ad for Specter. “I’m proud to endorse Arlen Specter.”

This is only part of it. Santorum has not been properly vetted.
Even before this RINO voting record above came out,
he stuck me as a petty, egotistical little weasel

He needs to put his ego aside, put his country before himself and drop out.

I think most people would trust a social conservative much more than they would the GOP-elite and the pure fiscal conservatives.

I am waiting for the Santorum is a bigot and a hater rhetoric he is getting from the OWS gay crowd. That will be amusing. So, here is my laugh before it gets thick:

Ha! Ha!

Guess I'll have to vote for Romney.

Did Romney write this himself, or was it one of his mega-pacs?

No argument from me!

I don't like any of them...but all of them more than what is in the WH now!

We learned today that our primary election in TX will be May 29...maybe! So for the second time in a row TX voters probably won't count in picking the GOP candidate!

I blame the establishment!

He should have gone to DC and said, please don't give Pennsylvania ANY money for what we need in my state.

Wow. You are already a lost cause... for you instinctively turn to the federal government for your state's needs.

Which means you cannot countenance the thought of returning our nation to a more Constitutional, small-government ideal in which the Federal government is limited to certain roles. For if you did, then the state could not turn to the Federal government for it's needs.

As I wrote before:

Give me the name of one person in the house and or senate who did not bring home the pork? What is a senators job in representing his state? Even ron paul (romney’s campaign manipulator) brings home the pork. What is needed is common sense set of standards as to what is and isn’t acceptable spending.

“I” don’t get a penny from the government. I pay taxes for those 50% who don’t pay.

Voted AGAINST increasing the number of immigration investigators: (Instead he voted on the later amendment raising the salaries of the investigators and adding a smaller number of them)

VOTED AGAINST HIRING AN ADDITIONAL 1,000 BORDER PATROL AGENTS, paid for by reductions in state grants. (Instead, he supported McCain’s amendment that would base the number of additional agents on independent study. McCain yanked consideration of his amendment after this one was voted down. McCain’s amendment was entered before this one was considered.)

VOTED TO GIVE SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
(Senate passed companion measure H.R. 1469 in lieu of this measure by Unanimous Consent.(( the bill it was attached to was rejected.)) Look closer at the text of the amendment. Voting for the amendment extended the SSI benefits of aliens. The title is the opposite of the bill’s purpose.)

VOTED TO GIVE SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
( The very next vote was for S4136: “To ensure the integrity of the Earned Income Tax Credit program by reducing the potential for fraud and to ensure that aliens who receive an adjustment of this status under this bill meet their obligation to pay back taxes without creating a burden on the American public.” Santorum voted yea for this one, which passed.)

VOTED AGAINST FOOD STAMP REFORM (S1932, aside from this, funded SCHIP *subtitle B*, added another $2 billion for extended health care for anyone claiming to be a Katrina victim *Subtitle C*, and the food stamp portion was not voted on seperately, and was later dropped by House negotiators before the bill was voted on again.)

VOTED AGAINST MEDICAID REFORM - (same bill as above)

I’ve no time to continue following and reading the nice links you provided. I’m afraid that, so far, it paints a far different picture than the summary does.

So... what?

Romney?

Four more years of Obama?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Ricky "SOPA" Santorum the collectivist big government nanny-statist.
"This whole idea of personal autonomy, well I don’t think most conservatives hold that point of view. Some do. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues. You know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world and I think most conservatives understand that individuals can’t go it alone." [source]

"What was my vision? I came to the uncomfortable realization that conservatives were not only reluctant to spend government dollars on the poor, they hadn’t even thought much about what might work better. I often describe my conservative colleagues during this time as simply ‘cheap liberals.’ My own economically modest personal background and my faith had taught me to care for those who are less fortunate, but I too had not yet given much thought to the proper role of government in this mission." –Rick Santorum, p. IX It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good (2005)

"I suspect some will dismiss my ideas as just an extended version of ‘compassionate conservatism.’ Some will reject what I have said as a kind of ‘Big Government Conservatism.’ Some will say that what I’ve tried to argue isn’t conservatism at all. But I believe what I’ve been presenting is the genuine conservatism our Founders envisioned. One that fosters the opportunity for all Americans to live as we are called to live, in selfless families that contribute to the general welfare, the common good." –Rick Santorum, p. 421 It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good (2005)

"If you're a conservative, there really is only one place to go right now. I would even argue farther than that. If you're a Republican, if you're a Republican in the broadest sense, there is only one place to go right now and that's Mitt Romney." –Rick Santorum, 02/1/2008 [source]
Check out his brochure, 50 Things You Didn't Know About Rick Santorum, where he proudly defends food stamps, increasing minimum wage, stem cell harvesting, college tuition subsidies, bloated school funding, working with Bono to fight world poverty, etc.

Also see his disturbing voting record for more doozies.

These are really insignificant items considering that Santorum was a Senator in a blue state. Voting for earmarks is par for the course compared to to what that late Senator “white sheets” from West Virginia did for his state. This is a hit-list from an anti-Santorum site typical of MoveOn.org.

I think you’ve done your homework. I just don’t know what to believe at this point. Part of me says that financial Armageddon cannot be avoided and we may as well let the ship sink with leftists in charge so that they can blame no one and we can hammer them over the head with their failure until they can no longer open their eyes. I know they are ruining the Constitution, but we can undo all of their destruction of the economy and the USC only by completely defeating them with true conservatives with lockdown majorities in both houses. To me, that is the only way we can fix this mess. Squeaking a Republican through but letting the wounded tiger of the establishment parties of both sides to hide in the tall grass sounds like a bad plan. They will allow the Republican enough political wins that when TSHTF, they can blame it on Republicans, conservatives, capitalism, the free-market, the internal-combustion engine, and all the Goebbels-type propagandist lies they have been so successful with.
