Look you should be concerned that Santorum lost by 18. No problem there. But you should also try to understand why. Number 1, a 106% of Philadelphia voters voted that year. Thats right, more votes than registered voters. Second, it was a piss poor year for republicans everywhere. Third, Pennsylvania had been trending left for some time. Bush lost there twice and a Republican POTUS had not won in Pa since 1988. So Santorum was running and winning in a left leaning state for years. Nobody seems to appreciate tha fact.
But most importantly Santorum was running against the son perhaps the most beloved politician in Pa history, Bob Casey a pro life, pro gun democrat. He didn’t have a prayer of coming close that year.
18 POINTS, Sorry not satisfied yet. Do you know how hard it is to lose by 18 points? NO sitting incumbent lost by more than 10 in a very bad year. Somehow, someone found some stuff that made it hard for him to win. I would like to know what that is. NO, I am not satisfied at this point. I think there is a possiblity that the voters soured on him. WHY? That is all, why? It would be good to know before we send him up against Obama, don’t you think. I know this is easy for you, but not for me. This election is too important.
