From a June 2009 appearance on Meet the Press, Mitt Romney touts his plan as model for national health care reform and supports Wyden-Bennet as a model, which includes a federal individual mandate.

In addition to the USA Today oped supporting the individual mandate, Romney was on Meet the Press and said, "The right way to proceed is to reform healthcare. That we can do as we did it in Massachusetts... We can do it for the nation. We can get everybody insured."
