Can Romney beat Obama?

Posted on 03/07/2012 6:40:54 PM PST by seeking enlightenment

With Romney squeaking out Ohio and a few other races before I have to question his electability. Ron Paul's supporters are going to support Paul no matter what but Santorum and Gingrich are splitting the vote. If Gingrich wasn't in the race then Romney loses the close races, there is not going to be anyone to split the the vote with Obama. Romney is also spending up to six times the money of the other candidates. Obama is talking about raising 1 billion dollars so Romney will probably be on the other side of the money battle and will his leads evaporate or will he be able to close the gap in the close races when he can't outspend Obama? I know that many people will vote for anyone but Obama but Romney doesn't seem to be able to inspire most of the Republicans and conservatives to vote for him so will he be able to pull in the undecided independents when the media turns the spotlight on him, he has yet to take a serious beating by the media yet and can he take it? If the race was a two man race and Santorum or possibly Gingrich had half his money I don't think he'd get the Republican nomination. So if Romney becomes the nominee and he no longer has his advantages and the pro Obama media comes into play, can he win?

Your Romney, troll routine gets tiring, I don’t even know why you hang around here.

Conservatives won’t be voting for Obama or Romney.

The Romney organization with the Rovians are basically white collar criminals against Chicago thugs. The Romney Organization is more sophisticated and will wipe the map . The Ohio thievery was a work of art.

Yes, it is true, especially this time.

Conservatives have been pushed beyond limits and exploited for their dutifulness for decades, McCain was too much, but because of Palin, conservatives pulled the lever one more time.

Now they insist on putting up the guy that came in third, behind the guy that was too much to bear in 2008 !

Romney is way over the top, we won’t be voting for him, we are used up and fed up, we won’t go that far.

Republicans will not rally behind Bishop Romney.

I know that I will be vilified by the “we must beat Obama” conservatives here, but, when I reluctantly pulled the McCain lever last time, I wasn’t voting for him, I was voting for Sarah. If he hadn’t picked Sarah as his VP candidate (or another strong Conservative), I would have left the President part of my ballot blank.

This time I won’t hold my nose and vote Mitt. You can yell at me and say that my “non” vote is a vote for Odumbo, but I don’t see much difference between them, so a vote “for” Mitt is also a vote for Odumbo.

If Mitt is in charge of picking Supreme Court justices, he will pick liberals like he did in Massachusetts. Any Republican Governor of any socialist state (CA, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY) has had to make too many compromises to get elected. They make a lot of noise staring down the unions, but while they are blustering about balancing the budget, they are restricting gun ownership, granting extra Constitutional rights to gays, making abortions more accessible while penalizing those who oppose it, demanding that the “rich” “pay their fair share”, and looking for more ways to hide taxes to balance their bloated budgets.

No, I will not vote for a liberal, no matter what side of the ballot they are on. When Odumbo wins his second term, y’all can pile on and say “It’s all your fault!” I don’t care, my principles are no longer for sale. It’s too bad yours are.

Hildy, I think most of us guessed that already. See, we conservatives can read you.

Yeah sure, gas prices in California are what now? $6 a gallon? real unemployment is what now? over 11%, over 50 million Americans on food stamps now? shall I go on?

My chosen candidates are Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachman, but at this point? over $40 to fill up my little 4 cylinder car? gas now running me half my mortgage payment per month, increasing food prices, this household is voting for anyone but Obama, no matter who the nominee is, and when it comes down to it? Newt, Rick, Sarah and Michelle will support Mitt too.

Hildy you are a single minded Romney troll, just like in 2008.

You don’t know anything about conservatives, and how they will vote.

Even McCain wiped the floor with Romney in 2008, and he had no money, your boy Romney is weak, and creepy, Obama will roll over him.

The base and Christians sure won’t show up for Romney.

Santorum can’t win, neither can Newt. People keep forgetting, Conservatives make up about 40% of the population, 20% self identify as Liberal and the rest are Moderates.

Really? I'm the base, I'm Conservative and Catholic, couldn't vote for Dole, held my nose voting for McCain and the only excitement in voting for the McCain ticket was Sarah on the ticket.

Who do you guys think Santorum, Newt and Sarah are going to support at the convention? do you really think they want another 4 years of Obama? they're going to support Romney. And before you call me a Romney Troll I supported Bachman.

I am a conservative as well.. I just live in the real world.

You are not a conservative.

In 2007 you were supporting Giuliani, when that ended, you switched to Romney, and it has been Romney ever sense.

Hildy, you are no conservative, you are a romneybot.
