Whittle and Klaven are both spectacular. I like to post their videos on a certain liberal site. It really brings on the shrieking ad-hominem...

Heheh, I’ll bet it does! I surely do wish Bill Whittle would run for public office.

Bill Whittle is brilliant. He wrote a great essay on how to train people to give you what you want several years ago which I’ve lost. If you are a Whittle fan you and know what I’m referring to I would appreciate a link if you have it.

Americans have become so deadened by the bread and circuses routine from BOTH POLITICAL parties, that now when the facts show that the profligate spending by both parties absolutely will end entitlements (bread and circuses) when the government is finally unable to borrow for the proligate spending We The People ignore the boldfaced lies from the likes of Geitner and Obama inorder to focus instead on the soon to end bread and circuses. (Gee, that was a long sentence, but I don’t feel like breaking ti down when it’s just preaching to the choir who already know this stuff at FR.)

I started saying last November that the US has entered the Bread and Circuses phase. We entered it sooner, but that was when I started articulating it that way... :-)

It’s been bread and circuses for a while now. And the b&c contingent keeps getting larger and larger and more mainstream.

And don’t think this is just a political problem—it’s much much more of a cultural problem. Just take a look at any TV network at pretty much any time of the day or night. Pandering to our lowest common denominator instead of trying to appeal to our higher sense of being... Books, magazines, the internet. The entitlement culture, generation after generation of families on welfare. Unwed child mothers, repeating the mistakes of their (often absent) parents.

These all play their part in the destruction of our nation. And unless we can turn this trend around in 2012 and 2016, we are doomed.

Like that’s gonna happen. We are already doomed. It is not a matter of if. It is a matter of when. The opportunity to hit the brakes and stop this bus was years ago. Even before Obama was elected. We’re gonna hit bottom, that is a given. And I personally think we are gonna hit hard.

> He wrote a great essay

I've found greatness in virtually all of his writings. You might find what you're looking for in his book “Silent America”, a collection of his essays published a few years back.
