Public opinion shifts on Trayvon Martin case
The Daily Caller ^ | March 31, 2012 | David Martosko

Posted on 03/31/2012 3:39:16 PM PDT by Cboldt

But just two days later, a national poll from Wilson Perkins Allen (WPA) Opinion Research determined that just 48 percent of Americans said police should arrest Zimmerman - a decrease of 25 percent. ...

In the WPA poll, 39 percent said they believe Trayvon Martin was "minding his own business" when he was attacked. Just 18 percent said they thought "Zimmerman was attacked" by the teen.

“With so many tragic events, shootings, crime stories, people being killed, why did the MSM hone in on this story, and decide to give saturation coverage to it?”

Obama’s internal polling shows him losing in November — BAD. It is the only explanantion. None of his base is energized enough to even want to go to the polls. Therefore, create a well-orchestrated race-baiting mock controversy and what do you know? The black man hates the white man, the liberals need to pretend they are in Selma with police dogs and fire hoses and Obama has energized his base.

No one gives a d@mn about some wannabe black hoodlum getting killed over a month ago — its an everyday occurence. Out of nowhere EVERYONE on the left is up in arms about a run of the mill shooting. It is the same feigned outrage we saw about some slut wanting free condoms. That didn’t work so they have moved on to the next make-believe controversy. Obozo certainly can’t run a record of achievement so he is throwing every left wing piece of crap he can think of to raise money (which he is not doing so well in) and energize his base (which would just as soon stay home come election day).

So we have to verify and triple-check everything, but MSNBC, Obama, Al Sharpton, the black panthers, the NAACP and all the other fifth columnists can not only opine, but make death threats, post illegal rewards and trespass? Okay!

Are you seriously asking if we should only post stuff that is true? Yes. We should only post stuff that's true...or switch to the other side.

This is all about firing up and energizing a black community to get out and vote against whitey come November.

Obama hasn’t provided them with any jobs, he hasn’t saved their house from foreclosure, his promise of free health care is going down the tubes, if they don’t do something to fire up the minority base, he doesn’t stand a chance against republicans and white independents.

The “War on Women” kind of petered out so the Obama team has decided, when all else fails, play the race card.

Those are excellent points and absolutely they are super major factors!

I want to make clear however for anyone reading this but not reading my original reply.. I make a distinction between blacks who freed themselves before 1865 and those who did not. The former may be the ancestors of today's conservatives.

looks like the truths the media tried so desperately to hide are being picked up on by the populace. that must really make the media angry. hee hee, hope so.

On the other hand, the cute picture of the 13-yr-old in the red tee shirt is still posted non-stop on billboards (who's paying for all that?), large "demonstration posters" by the hundreds, and "little details" that were released right after the incident disappeared into a black hole, like the fact Tray-von had tweeted 900+(?) times the last 7 hours on that fateful day (more than one account?)

Vet, yes, we should do exactly that.

The very essence of this entire matter is truth.

Truth shall set us free, and it is lies that enslave us.

Let the other side deal in lies and deception, let them be enslaved, because that is what they want.

It doesn’t seem to me that those particular tweets could be actual based unpon already established timeline and facts, so let’s let them be. I believe our case and the case of George Zimmerman has already been made.

I was at Wal-mart today for the first time in nearly a month and what to my wandering eye at the checkout register should appear but a cover of People Magazine. There on the front was a pastoral looking picture with the picture of ten year old Trayvon Martin superimposed on it.

I nearly blew my cork... BLATANT manipulation of the facts. And it’s been like that since the story went mainstream. And the perpetrators will get away with AGAIN.

You may be right. We’ve taken care of sex and violence, bad economy would be nothing new. I was thinking about the nuclear plant in California. There have been a lot of floater articles in the non-California press lately. Of course the locals aren’t concerned, but what do they know./s

Comments on the blog after the purported tweets:

Any real screen grab will also show the @ handle for the twitter account. This one doesn’t. It just shows names.

Also, the only legitimate Twitter Account for TrayVon Martin thus far had the handle @No_Limit_Ni**a

He had more than one twitter account as noted by the Daily Caller. This one was under Trayvon Slimm Martin, which his twitter friends have set up RIP under on Twitter. No Limit Nigga was one, and T33ZY_TAUGHT_M3 was another...this one was pulled quite quickly, all of the others are gone too. The language and euphamisms are the same as his other two accounts, which Daily CAller was able to save before they were pulled, so I’m keeping this one up as it appears to be legit, especially since the friend he’s tweeting with here is indeed a friend on his other accounts.

The first poll question was:

Based on what you have read or heard about this incident, do you think the police should or should not arrest George Zimmerman for shooting Trayvon Martin?

Permit me to translate:

Based on rumor and speculation by people who have an agenda on either side, without regard to whether you've confirmed any facts, and without establishing what the applicable Florida law is, and even though you may not be a Florida resident in which case your views aren't supposed to be represented by the acts of Florida legislators anyway, what's your unfounded gut feeling about whether police should or should not arrest George Zimmerman for shooting Trayvon Martin?

Yeah. That's an important journalist function Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research performed, you betcha.

The War Chick said she was going to check into it; couldn’t someone check the tweets of the guy who appears to be communicating with Martin? I’m not a tweet person so I have no clue how to do it.

-- Yeah. That's an important journalist function Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research performed, you betcha. --

And CNN, before them.

I certainly don't mean that the opinion polls have any bearing WHATSOEVER on the truth of the incident. They reflect exactly what you proposed as an alternative question; media influence on perception of reality.

It'd be one thing if the perpetually-pissed and other assorted people would shrug off the reports as "maybe true, maybe not." But here we have the president, presidential candidates, a substantial number of congress people, about 99% of the political chattering class touting a false reality; and dragging a good chunk of the gullible public along for the ride.

And Zimmerman is getting a raw deal. Really raw. As is the public.

You missed the 20th century. My mother-in-law was an adult during the late 1930’s and didn’t know FDR was running a centrally-planned economy.

I showed her the ration tokens.

Sorry but there is not one person in their right mind that will not cross the street if they see a young black male in a hoodie walking towards them, even though innocently,at night in an isolated area that will not cross the street to avoid him. That includes liberals, Democrats, conservatives, male, females, gays, straight, Republicans, media people, and yes, even Jesse Jackson. Profiling exists because the human mind reactively profiles when it senses a perceived threat, real or unreal.

No, they won’t. They aren’t. People aren’t buying the hogwash.

This is a “teachable moment” on the media lies, and people are seeing it.

If the SRM (state run media) works at it, they could link Zimmerman to every bad thing that happens in the world. After all, since we don`t know where he is, there is NO evidence he WAS NOT involved....

I am not attempting to either confirm or deny validity of the screen captures.
The following is simply a fact:
Tracy Martin has stated that his son had visited in Sanford previous to February 26.

Then spending two-hundred-plus years before getting in position to be freed and then only because whites turned the slaves loose.

Whites turned them loose, but not without a fight, i.e., not all whites wanted to turn the black slaves loose. In the decades leading up to the American Civil War, many white Americans fought bitterly over the issue of slavery. Many wanted to end it, and many did not. And whatever the cause of the Civil War, one thing is certain, the animosity between white Americans played out during the Civil War over this issue.

And those whites who wanted to maintain slavery, went on to become the Ku Klux Klan. And then the 20th century off shoots became the Neo Nazi's etc. Today, the Klan, which once numbered 5 million members, is but a vapor of its former self.

Progressive whites, along with black organizations, fought against these organizations. So, this is a credit to the white race. However, not all whites were in this camp, hence the large army of white hooded and robed soldiers that existed between the Civil War and the First World War.

The ones flocking to Sharpton, Jackson, and other black radicals are the descendants of those turned loose by the white man in 1865. They are looking for special treatment and favors, hating the white man and hating blacks who "act white." They don't want to get along, they want to get even.

Not sure I agree with that assessment. But opposing hatred from within the black community has to come from within. Imagine if the black community opposed the Klan alone back in the 19th and 20th century. It would have just swelled their (Klan) ranks. That's why people like Charles Mansion wanted a race war. It would have just swelled the ranks of the Klan to see other white men killed by blacks.

In some ways, this is something that has to be addressed by the black community alone. Any strong opposition against the Al Shaprtons by whites, will only swell their ranks.

That's why its important to bring in black investigators along side their white counter parts into this case. To get everyone's perspective.

I have a question. This story, and others I've seen, say that Zimmerman was a self-appointed neighborhood watch leader.

Does anyone have any evidence that this is true or not true? It makes it sound like he was some kind of a vigilante, as opposed to part of a group effort to stem the tide of crime in the neighborhood.
