Your gut is right. Ted Cruz, hands down.
Dewhurst is Perry without the twang. Big establishment RINO who could only find fault with Cruz for being a lawyer who defends somebody who is probably guilty. Last I checked, that comes with the territory.
Cruz is the real deal, at least on the issues/positions he has taken. Let’s hope he does what he says.
Craig James is a self Important jock. Lord help us if he gets elected.
Tom Leppert is wearing the emperors’ new clothes (I am from Dallas and have watched his lack of convictions and stances on the nightly news) If Dallas gets worse under your watch, why should we put you into the senate?
There are a few others talking, but these 4 are the top contenders.
I’m going with Ted Cruz all the way.
TED CRUZ!
I know about Dewhurst, and 'do not want' applies.
/johnny
I won’t be voting for Ted. Dewhurst has my vote even though I’ll be holding my nose.
Anyone here on Freerepublic representing a chinese company that steals patented ideas from an American company??? I wouldn’t want my name anywhere on that legal notice yet Ted Cruz allowed it. If Ted’s a conservative then I’m on the wrong planet.

Here’s a note from the Ted Cruz web site. Sure he’s just doing his job...
http://www.tedcruz.org/thefacts/
Dewhurst Smear:
Ted Cruz is representing a Chinese company against an American company.
The Facts:
Ted works in the private sector as an appellate lawyer at a major law firm that represents clients on different sides of litigation. One of the clients of the firm is a tire company based in China. That private company was sued in a trademark dispute and hit with a judgment, and the firm was hired to handle the appeal. Contrary to Dewhursts claim, Ted did not represent the company at trial, and was not the companys trial lawyer. And the appeal concerns technical issues like the courts jurisdiction and the appropriate statute of limitations.
while your openness to persuasion is commendable (and rare)....your instincts are right. Vote Cruz!
Most DEFINITELY, vote for TED CRUZ—and get your friends to vote for him also.
Jeez, “he looks sleazy” isn’t much different than “If I had a son he’d look like Trayvon”. Cruz is a lawyer, so his job is to represent his client. Why is that a problem? We need to be a bit more discerning. Cruz is a good guy. So is Dewhurst There’s a third good candidate, Ben Bius. They’re all good men and they are all conservatives. They are all self-made success stories. Any of them would be an asset in the Senate.
Ted Cruz without a second’s hesitation!

If you like how Texas has been run since 2003, then you can blame Dewhurst. He has been the one running Texas since then.
Other than appointing people to state official positions, the Governor doesn’t do much else(except forget stuff).
Most of the lifting is done by the Lt. Governor. The budget = Lt. Governor. The economic decisions = Lt. Governor.
Texas has had one of the best, if not the best economies, during Dewhurst’s term.
As far as negative ads, us Conservatives need to get over, or on board with, mudslinging. You don’t have to like it you just need to know mudslinging works and you need to do it to win.
You know who doesn’t sling mud? John “cry baby” Boener. John “insane” Mccain. I am personally sick of apparently spineless men running our party.
Ted needs to start slinging some mud if he wants to win.
We need a fighter in there, so step it up Ted if you want to play at the top.
Ted Cruz would represent freedom I believe. Dewhurst would represent political correctness and self promotion.
Cruz.
My house is voting Cruz.
Ted Cruz
Cruz is not an establishment politician ... reason enough to vote for him.
David Dewhurst is a really nice guy. He’s sort of a fraternity brother of mine. I first met him when Falcon Seaboard was doing business with a my bank customer and I wanted to check out my prospect. But.. He’s like the school board member that gets in the weeds about spending either 40 or 60 million for a new high school sports stadium or the fellows in the Rotary Club who don’t want to make waves.
I’m for Cruz. We need people that are prepared to make transformational changes.
TED CRUZ. End of issue.
