I enjoyed your post. Tolkien understood well the human pursuit of power, how it can compromise and eventually enslave even those who start out with good purposes.
The more you rely on ends justifying the means, the more like the left you become, the more capable of abandoning other principles you become.
Then one day, when you finally ascend the pinnacle of power, you may find you have left all principles behind, and are reduced to the naked pursuit of even more power, and are at risk of becoming as much an oppressor as your predecessor.
This is, IMHO, the most likely meaning of the “ring of power,” hiding in plain sight. The temptation to power is so great, that even good men and women will sell off bits and pieces of their soul as necessary to get it, all the while justifying their avarice and cruelty because their intentions are good. But as we all know, that road paved with good intentions does not end well.
So the point is that you would rather have the fascist obamanation in office, give the ring to saran and live in captivity?
I trust that the house and maybe even the senate in the fall will keep romney in check, along with the voters.

If you can get Gingrich and Palin to supplant Milt Rominy, I’ll crawl over broken glass to vote for them. If not, it looks like Milt is going to be the only viable alternative to little barry bastard commie having four more years to ruin the Republic with hench thugs like Holder and perhaps two or three new leftist judges on the SCOTUS.

I just thought it was BS because most everybody he named that would “not” support Romney have already endorsed him. So the day has already come.
I think it’s great if a person doesn’t want to support Romney, but it seems bizarre for people to deny others the right to their own stated opinions, simply because they disagree with them.
But that includes most if not all of the names you claimed would not support Romney -- they already support him, and have already publicly stated that Romney would be better than Obama.
So OK, you think that they are all complete fools. But you should have the decency to allow them their own foolish opinions, rather than claim that they don't support Romney.

Do you know where abortions are being done? Have you gone to a clinic where there are abortions being done, and taken physical action to stop the killing of babies? If not, are you guilty of the deaths of those babies?
Have you refused to pay taxes to your federal and state government, since some of those taxes indirectly support abortion? Is everybody who ever gave money to United Way, which gives money to planned parenthood, equally guilty of "killing babies", and therefore equally unelectable?
We are ALL guilty at some level of the murders of the innocent, because none of us have done everything we could to stop it. Too many who have frankly taken the easy way are too quick to tarnish the reputation of others with their own self-aggrandizing holier-than-thou attitudes.
I've been involved in the pro-life movement my entire life. Even before I could vote, I was passing out pamphlets, attending protests, I was part of the early movement, working with Keith and Melody Green and the Last Days ministries to change hearts and minds.
But my efforts have been woefully inadequate to the task. Babies have died because I did not do all that I could.
But go ahead, and call others "baby killers" -- just remember that your own actions may be judged by the standards you use to judge others.

There is no rational reason to want Bork Obunga to be re-elected. What you are talking about is not some ten or fifteen year hiatus after which the original Washington/Jefferson republic could be re-instated. What you are talking about is another one of those centuries-long dark ages, i.e. a protracted period of time for which no archaeological evidence exists.
