Why Obamacare Is Bad for America - How to Argue With Your Friends
Tenth Amendment Network ^ | 7/5/2012 | Marc Gindin

Admit it: you have an acquaintance, a coworker, maybe even a -- gulp -- friend equivocal about, or even in support of, Obamacare because it gets health insurance to more people. Maybe you've argued about this at length in the past, both of you agreeing to disagree but you, in your own mind, wondering what more you could have said to make your point that Obamacare is bad for the country. Good news: you've stumbled on to the right article.

If this is your blog, why don’t you post the entire article here?

My friend is a screaming nutcase on this issue. Anyone who doesn’t agree with it doesn’t know what is in it, is going to go to hell for being uncompassionate etc.

My argument:

The “wealthy” already have insurance.

The poor will be provided with insurance through Obamacare (taxes).

Which leaves the middle class without insurance, young and old, holding the bag.

I stopped my liberal BIL (who has no medical insurance) in his tracks by asking if he was going to buy insurance or pay the tax. Suddenly I was accused of being condescending and prying into his personal business. When I reframed it as a choice small business would need to make, he refused to discuss the subject any further and has not sppoken to me since. :-)

I’m surrounded by idiots. It’s not just 1 commie sympathizer with whom I’d have to argue.

Thank God my immediate family - and ONLY my immediate family, in this God-forsaken LiberalLand - is on my side.

My friend is a screaming nutcase on this issue.

If Obamacare is so wonderful, ask him why Congress exempted itself from Obamacare.

I don’t have any friends who like Obamacare. Even most of my Democrat neighbors with whom I argue politics seem to think it sucks.

I simply tell the truth, that people have come from all over the world to get our healthcare because it was the best. You simply can’t have free healthcare for all and maintain any level of quality. We’re going to be dependent on the gov’t for every test, every surgery, sadly even every diagnosis (many of which will already come too late).

They’re tearing down the best healthcare system in the world for political gain.

I think this is the best way to get rid of it. Demand that Congress and their favorite friends opt into the exact same thing they say is so great for the rest of us. It is not something that the Libs could even disagree with. What would be the reasoning they could possibly use? (Given that they were sane which is questionable).

My argument: “Read my lips - absolutely NO new taxes on Anybody making less than $250,000.00” all the while he was PLANNING to argue in front of the Supreme Court that the new health care overhaul WAS a tax, and knowing all along that 75% of the people taxed would be earning under $125,000! A calculated, planned, deceitful act to force it upon us without our consent, all the while blatantly lying to us saying it was not a tax.

If it’s so wonderful, why are so many unions asking for(and getting) exemptions from it?
