Maybe he was just taking a gun to a knife fight like his community organizer in chief told him to.

OK, so where does a perpetual “student” get the money to buy his weaponry?

From what I can guess, he had at least $3000 worth of assorted weaponry, ammo and protective gear at the scene, and another $600 piece in his car. Not to mention whatever he has in his apartment.

And how does a perpetual “student” buy all this stuff without his friends (assuming he has any) and relatives taking notice?

How did he pass background checks, if he has been treated for mental illness?

A lot of unanswered questions.

Heard yesterday, in the media blast/fog, that he had no LEGAL weapons, so there were no background checks.

I figure this guys a member of the Democratic underground. He was instructed by his operatives to put guns back on the front burner before elections.

Perpetual students...get all their money from the parents. It’s rare that you find any alternate route. The cash for the weapons and ammo? My guess is that he came to parents back in May and said he needed $5k for some bills....they wrote a check, end of the story.

Background checks? If you’ve never been arrested before or convicted...you pass a background check. How many mentally ill Americans can pass a background check? Probably two million at a minimum.

I spent almost twenty years living in Germany. The deal there is simple. You have to join a local gun or hunting club in your local area, which offer gun safety, hunting sessions, and first aid classes. At the end, there is a certificate they stamp and you present that to the local police station. Then you get a letter stamped by your doctor stating your sane nature. Finally, you buy a gun case which has a unique key and there’s only one copy of the key (which you maintain). You now have permission to buy weapons and hunt. At any time...you violate standards of conduct (just plain hunting rules or gun safety rules), the cops have permission to retain your weapons until you establish your credibility. If any doctor or resident in the community turns in a police report that might question your sane nature....it’s going to hit the weapon database, and flag you for quick attention. People on bi-polar meds can forget about owning a weapon for the rest of their life. I won’t say the German system is perfect, but it presses people to honor standards of gun safety that have existed for at least a hundred years.

For those who want to bring up the fact that the Nazis confiscated weapons...go for it. When you settle back later and ask yourself how many nuts buy weapons and ammo on a weekly basis in America, and the growing odds of just one nut greeting you at the Piggly Wiggly one day, or at the gas station one afternoon, or at some pizza shop one evening...the odds just aren’t in your favor any more. There’s probably ten certified nuts living within five miles of your house...who own weapons and ammo. It just takes one to screw up things and make it personal for you.

In other words he bought them at a gun show. They want to close down the gun shows.

"OK, so where does a perpetual “student” get the money to buy his weaponry?"

I would say it is a little obvious that his mother knows for sure. I say that in the little reported point that when contacted by police in San Diego, her first response to the inquiry was that she was sure they had the right person who committed this barbaric act.

I would do the same reporting as did Brian Ross and say James Holmes is the real life the caricature of the kid in Rush Limbaugh's parody "Twixster".

” The deal there is simple. “

“the deal” in Germany is not simple. What is simple is: “The right to bear arms shall not be infringed”

> he had no LEGAL weapons, so there were no background checks.

If that’s true, then he had to buy all this stuff for cash. It’s not likely that illicit weapons dealers will take a credit card.

And since stolen weapons are harder to come by, the price may have been even higher than my first estimate, based on legit market prices.

Where does a perpetual “student” get all that cash?

Did his parents give it to him? If so, they’ve got to answer some questions.

Was he a drug dealer?

Where does a jerk like that get that kind of cash?

Drudge says he was on unemployment.
And you can’t be on unemployment without working somewhere first, right?

Yeah, right.

A LOT of people got a LOT of ‘splainin’ to do!

Wondering if this might be “Fast’n’Furious” equipment.

That stuff was deployed to foster more gun control.

Occupy Wallstreet and Democrat activist James Holmes (D-San Diego) tried to follow barack Obama’s rhetoric about gun control and use one of the Fast and furious weapons to kill 12 potential Republican voters in Aurora, CO. If only barack Obama would stop the hate-speech and inciting his left-wing mind-numbed robots.

I don’t think there’s anything special about the firearms he acquired. I’d think I could purchase a similar set of equipment here in Indianapolis in an afternoon.

If that happens, God forbid, I hope I'm prepared to defend myself.

I thought they listed, yesterday, the gun stores where he bought the guns. One at each of 3 stores. They were legal, registered, all the things they should have been.

“How did he pass background checks, if he has been treated for mental illness?”
______

I don’t think a background check does an intrusive search into medical records. It probably asks the applicant to volunteer if they had been treated and he just said “no”.

Well despite what ever system they have set up, it didn't stop the last shooting incident over there which was last year or perhaps the year before. As far as your Nazi reference lets take a harder look at this. In plain basic terms the Nazi's took control of the government, used said government to confiscate arms from those who could pose a threat to them, and at the same time made sure that they and their supporters where perfectly fine to have in there possession with devastating results. So how do such checks and controls have power over government or any government for that matter when the sociopaths get control of it? The answer is obvious, its zero. Which of course is why the founders had a second amendment which was for personal protection and more importantly for protection from an all powerful government run by lunatics. Power corrupts and power corrupts absolutely. Substitute corrupts with the word kill and the same logic applies. Also applying reason and logic here if people in a free society are allowed to be armed, how many will be killed (distinguish between defense and actual murder) by the citizen versus how many will be killed by there government by the use of weapons restricted for only its ability to keep power. The last century racked up well over 100 million deaths. There is a price for freedom and its name is eternal vigilance. Unfortunately there was no such thing going on at the university, the theater, the movie goers themselves, the long line of hand ringers from previous calls to regulate everything after events such as this, the psychiatric profession if we can even call it that at this point, the politicians who feed off carnage like this, and on and on.
