(Written by me on 7-6-12) It finally hit me this morning. The United States will not have a Christian leader for at least four more years, regardless of our vote in November. I can say this with assuredness only after examining the testimony of our two remaining Presidential candidates, as follows.
In a 2004 interview with Cathleen Falsani, Barack Obama said, “I believe that there are many paths to the same place.” Obama also said, “All people of faith—Christians, Jews, Muslims, animists, everyone knows the same God.” Animism in the belief in the existence of individual spirits that inhabit natural objects and phenomena. I had to look that one up)
Yet the Bible says otherwise: "I am Yahweh, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God." Isaiah 45:5. There any many faiths prevalent today which would be offended by the mere "intolerance" of this passage. Certainly Islam and Animism would top that list. One wonders what then Senator Barack Obama was thinking when he said that. A Christian who believes God's own testimony, (which I would highly recommend) would not nor could not utter what he did with a straight face.
On the political right, we have Mitt Romney. He is a self admitted life long Mormon. Mormon founder and leader Joseph Smith believed and Mormonism today teaches that God was not always God: “We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see clearly....and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did, and I will show it from the Bible” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp.345-346.
Again, the Bible says otherwise: "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24. "The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom." Isaiah 40:28
It is clear that both of these men have "a" truth but do not have "the" Truth as identified in Holy Scripture. Should we care? Does it really matter?
I think Deuteronomy 8:19,20 provides a clear answer: "If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. Like the nations the Lord destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the Lord your God."
Look around this once God fearing country and ask yourself this question: Is God slowly removing His hand of protection on our country in response to its continued persistence to "follow other gods" and disregard the truth of God's Word? Financial crisis, social degradation, climate out if control, rumors of wars! Are these improving through social "engineering" or are we instead witnessing the breakdown of our culture and the birth of a replacement society.
Check out the graph below for an interesting perspective in the rise and frequency of natural disasters in this century. Keep in mind that despite improvements in information access, the number of floods and cyclones is rising compared to earthquakes. This remains significant.

Is BO a Christian? The answer depends on how you define a “Christian”. Someone that only sits in a pew, or someone that truly believes and obeys Christ’s teachings and commandments? Sitting in the pews of a radical racist preacher for 20 years does not make you a Christian any more than sitting in a hen house makes you a chicken. By the eggs, you will know it is a hen.
Well, you have now. I'm a Christian and I routinely fish out chunks of ham from pea soup and don't add them to my homemade, even though I do use ham hocks for flavoring.
Santa Barbara's my hometown, and my parents used to drive us up to Buellton to Pea Soup Andersen's for the Traveler's Special -- all the pea soup you could eat served with various kinds of bread. They made it without chunks of ham, so to me chunkless pea soup is the only way to go.

Animism is a form of naturalism and/or paganism as are polytheism, pantheism, materialism, and shamanism.
Paul said men will either worship and serve creation or the living Creator of creation and that these two are the only two grounds for all religious systems around the world. Worship of creation is naturalism in its many variations.
Muslims, Jews and Christians are Monotheists, meaning they worship the Creator of creation while contemporary materialists (i.e., Secular Humanists, Karl Marx, Freud) and animistic pantheists (i.e., occult spiritual New Age, green-eco nature worshippers) worship unseen forces, energies and laws of nature.
Since both materialism and patheism exclude the transcendent living Creator, heaven, and hell it must also explain away man’s God-given individual spiritual endowments — soul, mind, free will, and conscience — attributes defined by the Founders as self-evident truths, for it is self-evidently true that all men think, choose, and feel guilt. In short, in denying the existence of God the Father and man’s supernaturally endowed attributes, naturalism abolishes our unalienable rights, thereby making worthless both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
More than eighty years ago, America began moving away from its’ founding Biblical-based worldview to what President Calvin Coolidge identified as “pagan materialism.” Fearing for the future of our Constitutional Republic he said in a speech delivered on the 150th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, July 5, 1926:

C.S. Lewis observed in The Abolition of Man (1947) that Cosmic (pantheism, panentheism) and Secular Humanism (materialism) appeared in Western history in the heart of Christendom during the Renaissance. The Renaissance reawakened a magic view of the world closely connected with pagan Gnostic sectarianism, Eastern pantheism as well as materialism and alchemical-scientism. Along with Eastern pantheism came spiritual evolution, reincarnation, karma and occultism, which means that evolutionary conceptions existed long before Darwin.
Early on Lewis understood that Cosmic and Secular Humanism were merely two sides of the same revival of pagan naturalism. Thus he argued, Cosmic and Secular Humanism are not enemies in principle but rather cooperating philosophies united against the transcendent Creator, Christianity and Christian-based civilization.
By lumping animism in with Christianity, et al., Obama was either demonstrating his abject ignorance or trying to create ‘equality’ between Monotheism and naturalism.
In that green ecology is a variant of naturalism and Obama is a true believer we can see what he is up to:
