Republican vs. Democrat: Convention Previews

In less than two weeks Mitt Romney will accept his party's nomination at a Republican National Convention set to feature strong and experienced leaders making the case for fiscally sound policies and what's already being called America's Comeback. A week after that will be the Democrats' turn.

Today's announcement that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will deliver the convention's keynote address guarantees a powerful presentation from the former prosecutor. In a preview of his speech, Governor Christie told reporters, "I'll try to tell some very direct and hard truths to people in the country about the trouble that we're in and the fact that fixing those problems is not going to be easy for any of them." He also said he will describe his experiences in New Jersey as evidence that "the American people are ready to confront those problems head-on and endure some sacrifice."

We can expect another dynamic and informative convention speech when Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) accepts the Vice Presidential nomination. Throughout his career and tenure as the House Budget Committee Chairman, Mr. Ryan has even impressed former Clinton Chief of Staff and co-chair of President Barack Obama's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility Erskine Bowles. In a 2011 address at the University of North Carolina, Mr. Bowles referred to Representative Ryan as "amazing" and said "the budget he came forward with is just like Paul Ryan. It is a sensible, straightforward, honest, serious budget and it cut the budget deficit just like we did by four trillion dollars." No doubt Mr. Ryan's convention speech will offer more of that sensible and straightforward honesty to a nation eager to hear real solutions to its problems.

Gov. Crispy Cream of NJ is absolutely the wrong OPTIC for the party.

He will represent a party which is out of touch with starving people.

400 lbs of PORK in a Barrel is not good marketing !

Crispy Cream must be mentally Ill to be that morbidly obese.

Hardly. Notwithstanding the stereotype of the “fat cat” obesity is no longer a sign of extreme wealth; it is, rather, a sign more of regular joe-ness.

Well you are entitled to your opinion.

But anyone that morbidly obese is mentally ill,
living out a death wish.

He is well over four hundred pounds.

That is twice what he should weigh.

* Conventions 2012 *
GOP and DOP - Keep On Looking, 2012!

In Times Like These...
We Need Real Leaders!

And in 1964 another guy named Romney stomped off stage and refused to endorse or support the nominee.
