As long as they represent the people who elected or nominated them first. For that matter I have real issues with the power of the speaker of the house. Nancy Pelosi used it as a weapon and Johnny the Jellyfish impedes a lot of good legislation.

Correct, but not smart.
We had a melt down like this in the 2010 colorado governor’s race. Ken Buck would be a Senator, and Obama care would not have passed had not charlatan Dan Maes not refused to get and Jane Norton refused to read the handwriting on the wall. Bottom line -this kind of meltdown will effect races up and down the ticket and we cannot afford that this year. If he truly believes in conservatism, he will bow out.
