He does make a good point. We always cave. In this case though I think it’s time to walk because of the severity of a McCaskill win. We can’t afford it.
I’m turning Rush off today because it is a waste of time. Rush is totally, completely wrong on this issue.
He was hesitant, but he did. He went on to say Akin should drop out for the good of his cause. What we need to do will be a lot easier if we control the Senate ... and Akin hurts our chances.

You should have held your post until you heard everything he said. He went on to say Akin needs to set aside personal considerations and withdraw for the good of the country and ensuring control of the Senate and getting rid of Obama. Bottom line, he is telling Akin that right or wrong, he has to go to prevent Mc Caskill being reelected for 6 more years.
You make a good blogpimp trying to scam hits for audio you stole.
It is most unfortunate that Akins, by his own admission, was careless in his comments. Given the impact, he simply cannot escape the consequences of his actions and must step aside.
This election is bigger than Akins and for the good of the country he needs to stand down - now.
The last thing we need is a self-imagined martyr, like Christine O'Donnell. The consequences of him not stepping down is simply bigger than him.
Mr. Akins, I defended you yesterday and I stand by my comments, but you must step aside for the national good.
I also think it is Akin and his constituents who matter here. The MSM and Democrats can suck sand. They bluster, pontificate and bellow about womens’ rights simultaneously ignoring the genocide of abortion. Duplicitous bastards one and all.
Couple that with a heretofore ball-less cadre of GOP elitists ever-so-eager to not appear hypocritic, and you have one big Kabuki political theatre. I don’t trust the GOP in any capacity insofar as I can’t get my hands on one of them sumbeehes and shake them. So I’ll leave it to Akin and his voters.
Rush is right, again.
He changed my mind about Akin. Whereas before I was supporting defiance against the GOPe and their shills like Coulter, Rush informed that democrats crossed party lines in the primary to ensure Akin was the GOP pick because they feel they can beat him on the abortion issue.
That tells the whole affair is rigged to McCaskill. Best to let Sarah Palin weigh in on her pick and get Akin off the stage.
Still though we have to do something about the GOPe telling the rest of us what to do. Missouri conservatives could have figured this out themselves and simply got Akin to leave. We don’t need the GOPe who selected a RINO democrat in republican clothing to be lecturing us on who should and who should not be in the race.
Rush was clear: Akin continuing forward endangers the election in MO and beyond.
He said he believes Akin knows the right thing to do.
I glad Rush isn’t. It has been shameful what the GOP has done and for what? Is it for such a fear of the left or total hunger for power? Akin has two daughters. There isn’t any doubt about how he feels concerning the seriousness of rape. The man apologized almost immediately and rather than the Democrats making a PC circus of this it is the GOP? This isn’t the GOP we need to win. Sure he said something that was more theory than fact which was stupid but do we really want to set this standard? Are we going to throw a rich Rhino under the bus for saying stupid things or worse? I’ve yet to see it. I remember the horrible way Trent Lott was drummed out and I wasn’t even a fan but I defended him and I will continue to defend good men from piling on and beat downs.
Interesting article:
Stress Puts Double Whammy On Reproductive System, Fertility
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/06/090615171618.htm
stress hormones miscarriage cortisol
A pregnant woman under stress, and having a baby from an act of rape has to be (I'm not a woman so that's opinion) stressful on a woman, produces higher levels of cortisol which increases the risk of miscarriage.
Simply looking into this a little bit would reduce a lot of this mistaken commentary.
I’m not sure why these politicians want to sink themselves over something that will NEVER occur. There will never be totally outlawed abortion in all cases. IT wont happen.
there will never be rape panels to put women on trial to assess who has been rape “legitimately” and who hasn’t and if they deem you are telling the truth you get a rape ticket to get your abortion. This will never happen.
or perhaps they delusionally think these things will actually occur.
All Akin needed to say in his opposition to abortion even due to pregnancy from rape is:
“The child conceived in the womb due to a rape is innocent of that crime. How does killing that child bring about justice or help the original victim?”
Now, people may still insist on allowing abortion due to rape, but they cannot argue with the view that that child is innocent and guilty of nothing other than existing. Why impose the death penalty on the innocent child?
But, Akin’s didn’t do that, at best he made a statement based on an unproven, gray-area theory. He blew it big time and needs to step aside as HE is now the issue, not the principles of the issue.
If it was just a couple of weeks prior to the election it might make sense to circle the wagons to defend him, but that isn’t the case. There is still time to beat the democrat with another candidate.
