If we are talking about high powered hunting rifles my choice would probably be Winchester. It would have to be one of their models with controlled round feeding. If I was really flush with money I might go for a Sako.
But like I said, the Remington is fine.

I bought my Rem 700 ADL 243 from Foley’s new for $99.00
Last month my son bought his in 30-06 for under $400.00
Still a great deal.
Didn’t like the factory stock. Changed it. Trigger’s different now. Changed it to a Shilen.
Picked up another bbl if my son wants to swap it out too.
I just love tinkering on them there firearms.
My favorite is the Ruger M77 Mk II in .338 winchester magnum.
Then I installed a Hogue stock and it has a Trigicon scope.
This Ruger is a controlled round feed, and its stainless.
My Alaska big game light rifle, the heavy one is the Winchester 70 in .375H&H.
