Technically she was right, but she conceded the substance of Romney’s argument in her very next breath. But these debate circuses are all style over substance so the gotcha moment in Obama’s favor is all the general public will remember.
To me, his first utterance of the words “act(s)of terror” followed by a long diatribe about condemning freedom of expression missused to attack a perfectly harmless religion isn’t recognition that the attack was planned by terrorists for reasons completely different than that BS little movie no one has seen. Because ‘terror’ was mentioned in no way technically translates to ‘terrorists’ with a planned agenda.
You nailed it. Too much work and distraction to check. She said, “Read the transcript...” How many folks do you think actually looked up the speech transcript and read it?
This “dust-up” will keep Libya/the cover-up by the administration of why 4 Americans were murdered, in the news. The Matthews and Crowleys of state media [snug as bugs in bed with the Obama-Biden racist-socialist agenda] will sink even deeper into the world of lies and deception, trying in vain to hold on to those voters who are now stampeding to Romney-Ryan.
You’re right — and I’m afraid the takeaway from this one will be a big plus for Obama. Our guys lost in that exchange, and like a real sports pro does after he makes a bad play, sometimes you just have to suck it up and let it go.
This will cost Romney points in the polls.
By then, Mr. Romney had had enough, and talked over her demands. No, let let let me go back and speak to the points the president made and and and lets get them correct.
At the next question, the moderator lost all control. Candy, Mr. Obama said. Hold on. Mr. President, the governor said, Im still speaking. They mixed it up for a bit, then Ms. Crowley said: Sit down, Mr. Romney.
The most shocking exchange took place on the Benghazi attack that left the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three others dead.
Mr. Romney: You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack, it was an act of terror? It was not a spontaneous demonstration, is that what youre saying.
Mr. Obama made no defense. Please proceed, governor.
I want to make sure, Mr. Romney said. Get the transcript, the president said. Then Ms. Crowley jumped in to do her own fact-check, on the spot. It it it he did in fact, sir. He did call it an act of terror.
The truth is, he didnt. The day after the attack, he said only this: No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. It took another two weeks before the White House would label the attack an act of terror........"
