Are they reporting the rumor or do they have someone to back this story up yet?

So Mr. Obama takes " Offense " of the American people questioning his honesty on what happen in Benghazi ? are we hearing him clearly ?

Sorry Mr. Obama, the American people take offense that you have lied to us over this and we are your boss... not the other way around.
We own this country, not you.

I want Gen. Ham re-instated of his command or promoted to either Joint Chiefs of Staff or Secretary of Defense...

No way he could be releaved of command in 30 seconds. That doesn’t pass the smell test. Of course, nothing from the WH passes the smell test either.

Not necessarily...There are always Special Forces teams in the Africa theater. Maybe none were assigned to him on paper but I guarantee you if any were in the area they would volunteer in a minute!

I think the UCMJ says we are to report unlawful orders to our superiors. It doesn’t address what happens when the unlawful orders come from the highest authority.

Once you get into the upper ranks of the Military, you would be SHOCKED at how political it actually is. As long as you have a “good enough” record, it’s not what you know, but who you know. Some “Generals” are groomed all along the way because of who their Daddy was, and some just catch the right eye at the right moment to acquire a powerful ally. Bottom line -— you don’t get to be a General unless you are an astute political beast.

This is me theorizing: What most likely happened was the General looked at his XO and told him he [the 2nd in Command) had a responsibility to take the con once the orders were disobeyed [by Ham]. Ham put the men in motion and the XO stepped up.

This way Ham covered his XO and if he [Ham] was relieved he could ensure his competent XO would be able to take charge without being relieved as well (if it came to Ham being relieved); however, at least some attempt to save the personnel at the embassy was already in play.

Removing a CoCom is a huge ordeal; these guys are kings of their kingdom - following post as Combatant Commanders they would probably go be their service Commandant, have a seat as a Joint Chief of staff, or retire and do something on the outside.

Once it was realized Ham would not be actually relieved, the CYA was no longer needed.....Ham is on his way out anyway; his relief is on the way in. Actually relieving him of his duties and command would be very public and negatively add to the already growing scandal in a very big way. I don't know General Ham, but if I had to guess if he was going to fall on his sword he would make sure it didn't stab his XO in the process. I doubt he would make it that far and not know if he could trust his XO.

Re #7: How right you are. I see it coming as well.

History about to repeat itself?

http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/RUSpurge.htm

I don’t know if there is anything our loyal Warriors (who have become expendable to the regime I suspect) can do to prevent it, but I hope they have some contingency plan worked up. Have a weird feeling that what’s about to happen isn’t going to be pretty.

With Obama’s polls tanking, the election must be avoided at all costs. Those costs might be expensive to all of us.

how factual is this info, or is it speculation? It seems to have popped up out of nowhere, and is turning up all over with seemingly no corroboration.

In the old days before mass communication, Ambassadors and various commanders of armed forces were expected to do what was necessary to protect Americans.

The President might not hear of the incident for six months. When he did, he would back the decision of these Ambassadors no matter what the outcome.

Why do we need ambassadors in this era of mass communication? If we have a problem with a foreign nation or bandits, just send them a stern e-mail followed by by a few Cruise missiles.

Panetta has no problem with risking our soldiers’ lives by placing Taliban “police” officers on their bases to murder them.

These people are below disgusting.

I don’t trust americas military high or low command..
since 1992 americas security has been degrading from what I can see..
especially at the top.. even after Patty Schoeders(d-Co) pussifying of the military..

The socialists have been in charge way too long.. including Bush.. Roberts is suspicious among the Supremes as well..
I don’t see Myth making much a difference that way..

The book “Patton” by Martin Blumenson was an eyeopener for me. Wow! Indeed, if Patton's biography is any example, getting to be a general is enormously political.

Also....I was amazed at how self-centered Patton was about is “destiny”. The biography was filled with quotes from Patton's letters about his ambitions to have a “nice juicy war”. Finally...most disturbing was that in the book Patton never once mentioned defending the Constitution. My impression was that America was merely a means to achieve his self centered glory.

Please remember that this biography was written by an admirer and cheerleader of Patton's greatness. Indeed he was great but I was left with the distinct impression that Patton was all about Patton. His oath to defend the Constitution was never mentioned in the many quotes taken from his letters.

(Patton, by the way, was the officer who lead U.S. troops during the depression who were sent out to break up the WWi vets who were camped in Washington D.C who were petitioning for their bonus pay. )

Well, I just don’t believe that. We have been told by the excellent and highly reputable and credible sources within this fine administration that General Ham has elected to take retirement to care for his sick wife.

Dripping sarcasm off and BS meter on very high gain.

Lying spits.

Who was the second in command? Some fawning POS who is an obastard spittlelick.

So what DOES rise to the level of ignoring the chain of command? They were begging for help and it was being denied...

But I agree with you on one thing...it is nice to know that our military in the field have SOMEONE at their backs since this administration is not.

Give me a real picture of a big ol bluegum in a small cell saying to him, “Does you want to be the momma or the daddy? I thought so, you look like a momma to me.”

That might make me a little happy.
