Thank you, Cincinatus' Wife! I was wondering about this and was going to ask for this information.

You're always right on top of things.

According to that Wikipedia article, Carl Levin in MI is retiring and Dr. Kahn is thinking of running. Oh goody. Kahn got a nice donation from SEIU the day he put in some kind of bill to help them out. Another RINO, just what we need.

Thanks for posting, CW, I’ve been sitting here waiting for you!

We need to overturn the 17th amendment because the popular election of senators kills us.

If the state legislatures selected senators as originally set forth in the constitution, the senate would be overwhelmingly Republican.

We need to channel our energy!!!

Sen. Ted Cruz! Watch him. He’s the new Texas Senator who “unexpectedly” beat the powerful TX Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst to replace Kay Bailey Hutchison.

We need more who will join him Nov. 2014. In the meantime, while waiting for reinforcements, he will not kneel and scrape before Reid. And he will articulately and effectively explain why!!!!!!

Yup. In Michigan the GOP has firm control of the entire state government but Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Flint keep electing Stabenow and Levin. Its a clear example of what's wrong with the idea of a popular vote.

The 17th amendment was sold under the label of "empowerment" snake oil that promised more power to the people but in reality stripped that power away.

Boy I will try to be optimistic, but after having our @$$es handed to us last night in the Senate when we should have taken control I'd say it is time for guns, grub and gold.

If the E-GOP is serious, McConnell needs to step aside, but I am not holding my breath on that one.

The GOP is done for starters, it is time to trim our sails and go in another direction...

“..............In Conclusion

Americans are famous for giving people a second chance.

They have done so for Barack Obama — but only in the most tepid of ways — with a narrow majority of the vote and while keep a strong majority of the opposing party in charge of the House of Representatives.

Obama — and his fellow liberals/progressives/socialists, or whatever you want to call them — may not be on the losing side of history (an arena in which the bad guys often win), but they are on the losing side of economic and human reality — in embracing ideas and policies that can only end in eroding freedom and destroying prosperity.

The fight continues.

I hate to sound cynical, but after last night I have nothing more to do with politics.

Let the Gotdam Democrats run it until there is nothing left, the Republican party is a POS./

Good information, but since we’re the stupid party, we may keep 6 or 7 of the 13 seats we have at risk. If we continue to make STUPID statements on abortion in front of the press, we won’t do any better. For the record, I agree with Akin and Mourdock (?sp), but by making these statements in front of cameras, it was chillingly easy for the press to spin them as “God wants rape”. A position neither man made, but it was too much of an opening for the press to resist. Why don’t we just tell our nominees to respond that they’re personally pro-life and the issue was settled by the Supreme Court in 1973, and they are powerless to change that decision. Instead, our guys give heartfelt opinions that invites the press to go wild. It didn’t work out too well. We lost two great guys who should have won, but worse we gave the commies two more votes to get what ever they want passed. Oh and that whole Harry Reid thing...

Yeah...hate him so much they voted him back in so they could keep on hating him, right?

You realize, all of you, that we LOST in the Senate? That even a rino like Brown in MA could not beat a liar and a thief? And for all the anger about zerocare, Bill Nelson gets re-elected?

2014? We can’t even hold what we had!

we need term limits on both house cut senate to 4 yrs 2 terms and leave house to 2 two yr terms, then out no big Platinum retirement, or health care for life. And those caught cheating or sending nuddie photos to under age girls go to JAIL like Wesley Snipes, and cannot run for any government office again. And no lobbying for 20 years.

This is the only bright spot of last night’s loss. Obama should get pounded in the 6th year of his term so we could be looking at a Republican Senate in 2014. So the House needs to do what Tip O’Neill’s House did in the early 80s — fight to hold back Socialism until the next election.

The Senate was a huge disappointment for me. Especially that witch Warren getting in. And Cornyn needs to be FIRED from whatever position he is in. This election was a disaster in the Senate and his incompetence is a big reason.

In addition, I cannot think of someone more vile than Harry Reid. He is obnoxious and plays gutter politics. And he hasn’t past a budget and no one is holding him to account. Now he gets at least two more years to run things.

But just like the 1992 loss to Clinton was a blessing in disguise, perhaps this election will result in one good thing—a GOP Senate in 2014.
