Petitions to Secede From US Explode, Now Exceed 675,000; Texas Approaches 100k

Every single state in the union has created a petition to secede from the United States in the aftermath of President Obama's reelection.

Already, in a mere week, seven states have exceeded 25,000 each, which triggers an automatic review from the White House (or so they've promised). Those states are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

At the time of writing, Texas has already garnered an incredible 97,083 signatures. In fact, over a thousand had signed the petition in the time it took to write this article.

Texas's petition reads:

The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government's neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.
Combined, across the nation the number of signatures has exceeded 675,000 and it rapidly growing.

The Lone Star state was once once an independent republic before. It could do it again. The Feds need them far more than they need the Feds.

Let the Bosniasation begin! Why is it that the people of NYC, Los Angeles and Chicago think the whole country should be run by them? There is more to America than a few major cities.

This list is a great starting point for the Obama administration to begin rounding up troublemakers to put in the camps....

Question - could a government employee sign this and not be in violation of the law?

I just got a phone call from “Defeat Obama” with a 202 area code. I didn’t answer it — got tired of the dozens of political calls over the past few months, but it seems that someone somewhere isn’t giving up on this.

The States have done nothing. Some people have signed some petitions. Now Obama has their names.

Be careful! We are dealing with vindictive people that have a lot to hide.
675,000 tax audits and growing.

We Got a Winner.

If the State Legislatures and / or Governors were passing and signing LEGISLATION, as the elected representatives of the citizens of the several States, THAT would be significant.

That any number of individuals are ‘signing’ some Website posting is beyond insignificant. Remember the ‘Di-hydrogen Oxide Ban’ petitions ?

There is NO significance whatsoever in this ‘petitioning’ UNTIL or UNLESS the sovereign States themselves are the source of this.

Shouldn’t these petitions be going to the governors of the individual states?
If there’s enough states the governors can all get together and not sucede, but expel the commies.

Yup, its not gonna happen.

Too bad we can’t get this many people interested in doing something real instead.

That's what I was thinking. I definitely wouldn't want my name on a list like these petitions. You might as well paint a bulls-eye on your forehead. Like “asking” to secede is really going to work out. It would only work if done “Declaration of Independence” style, with the states wanting to secede declaring that they have no faith or trust in the current government, and are leaving the union, like it or not. Also, it doesn't even compare to the CW, for the very reason for secession is violating out right to redress our grievances, along with rights reserved by the individual states.

“Yup, its not gonna happen.

So you assume 49% of America is going to lie down and say OK, sir, your boot on my neck is quite comfortable.

I’d love to hear those who poopoo the idea of a peaceful secession tell us exactly what course of action is available to those who love the Constitution and the small, limited federal government outlined in it.

The moochers and those who lord over them now outnumber us as was proven a little over a week ago. In 2014 and surely in 2016, those 47MM food stamp recipients will number 60MM or more, disabilty recipients will be millions more in number and the statists will still have a propagandizing media at their beckon call.

So how, sir, is this situation reversible or escapable by conventional electoral means? I’m willing to listen to any ideas.

We have the right to freedom.

We have the right independence from this evil, disgusting communist Obama and its evil regime in Waschington DC. don't we( can anyone here claim we don't?). Scotland, all Scottish people, will have the vote for independence from England, why can't we? Georgia and other soviet republics voted for independence from the Soviet Union and are now free.

I live in the South in Louisiana. I don't know if we think differently than you all but I see it as we have 2 choices live on our knees waiting until some Obamacare death panel chooses to end our lives or some other gov agency like the EPA ends our livelihood or we can fight for what we believe in now. Patrick Henry “Give me liberty or give me death!”

"Some people have signed some petitions. Now Obama has their names."

News alert - he already does.

His Maoist brethren have been working with Google, Facebook, Twitter, Credit Bureaus, Acxiom, voter rolls, etc to compile behavioral profiles of everyone to in order to predict actions...

I’m sorry to be rude, but what a bunch of cowards. And you wonder why we’re losing - “I’m not gonna put my name on a list” — if you cannot do that, how the hell are you going to do “anything real?”
I’m signing it, to send a message.
By the way, if you have a registered gun, you are already on the list and a heck of lot higher up on it than these folks.

Yeah look at me, I asked Obama if I can take my State out of the Union.
Come on folks, while that might have been fun, we need more then useless gestures to save our Country.

So you've got 150 million plus signatures?

Like I said, it ain't gonna happen any more than when the liberal babies threw the same tantrum in 04 after Bush won.
