On Monday, Alan Korwin, 2nd Amendment activist and author of Gun Laws of America, published a preliminary list of firearms and firearms accessories to be included in the yet-to-be announced, but much anticipated new version of the so-called Assault Weapons Ban.

The chief sponsor of the last ban, Sen. Diane Feinstein is said to be crafting new legislation now, which, if passed, President Obama would undoubtedly sign.

A few days after the tragic Sandy Hook school murders, a young Marine in fatigues stationed himself at the front entrance of the Nashville elementary school his two children attend. Another parent heard him admit to a reporter that he was unarmed. The other parent commented that, even though the young Marine standing guard was not armed, it made him “feel better” to know he was there.
It’s often been observed that “perception is more important than reality”. The observation is often correct. It is never MORE CORRECT than for those we’ve come to call “liberals”. I prefer “statist” but “liberal” has morphed from its classic meaning to the other end of the spectrum so I’ll stay with it.

Since these folks operate almost entirely on EMOTION and FEELING, REALITY seldom allows FACTS to intrude upon the delusional worldview they have constructed and the comfort that provides them. It is that illogical, irrational and delusional mindset that prompts many of them to continue to quest after a Utopian society. The thought that such a society can and will never be achieved in a fallen world populated with failed sinners never penetrates whatever remains of their cognitive consciousness. It’s a DANGEROUS WORLD and, as the liberals continue to “define deviancy down”, it becomes more dangerous daily.

There is another, far more sinister, level of the “liberal” call for gun control.

It was Mencken who offered that “The urge to save humanity is most often a false front for the URGE TO RULE.” He clearly had been a student of the liberal politicians of his day. Were he alive today and able to observe the likes of Chuck Schumer, Diane Feinstein, Obama and the rest, he’d almost certainly have used far stronger language to frame his sage observation.

To conclude, dozens of studies reveal the FACTS concerning gun control. Those FACTS are that where firearms are widely and READILY available to law-abiding citizens, CRIME GOES DOWN! The liberals who willfully ignore the FACTUAL EVIDENCE and continue to call for gun control (i.e. the DISARMING of DECENT CITIZENS, thereby denying them the ability to exercise their God-given right to self-defense) are those about whom Mencken wrote: Their goal is NOT about preserving life. It is about the hell-bent pursuit of the impossible to achieve Utopian world where all are equal but some (that’d be THEM) are MORE equal than others (that’d be US).

There are many PRO-RTKABA videos on You Tube that your often busy lives don’t allow you to find on your own. Search there for “Gun Control”, watch them – and, more importantly – SHARE THEM with the folks in your orbit.

We’re in a fight. And losing will ultimately cost us much more than our right to our guns.

I cannot even contact the GOP here in Virginia; either at the local level or the state level. They have disappeared or gone underground.
The websites don’t allow a visitor to send a email and there have not been any listings of meetings since July 2012 with regards to the county GOP.
I just want to know what they are hiding from?

this is their throwaway list.

The left will demand SOME of these as a slope to getting ALL of these.

slippery slope.

alinsky rules.

repeal the secondment amendment (look for them to cite prohibition)

look for the to play the racism card.

we have to shut the entire debate down.

I know the Leftists will probably add revolvers to the list and bolt-action rifles that have mags holding more than 2 rounds or something.

This is going to be a knock-down, drag-out fight this time around. and our side is in some disarray unfortunately.

Their land forces may not be what they once were but their nukes still work and Russia does have the Neutron bomb. China may be getting feisty lately but they are not stupid. I don't think Vlad P would stand for any unilateral adjustment of Russia's borders

If they leak a huge list now it will be easier for them to compromise on just a few little things later.

That's the gambit.

We need to continually remind those in the House who can stop this that NO BAN, NO MATTER HOW SHORT THE LIST, IS REASONABLE. PERIOD.

Those who own firearms on that list would be deprived of their property without ever having committed a crime.

And such an occurance would be what? the tenth or so major war they have fought over their borders during that last 60 years?

China is ambitious and Russia is vulnerable to some extent.

It's a little confusing because .40 and 10 mm are the same bullets but not the same cartridges. You CANNOT interchange the cartridges.

Personally I look at this as somebody in my federal government doing something useful for a change and generating a shopping list for me. Pity it wasn't a little more before Christmas, though.

"I have no problem using 10-mm ammo, but since I am going to order online, I wanted some tips on what to buy. I haven’t fired it in fifteen years. Any danger there? I still have three 50-rnd boxes of practice rounds and one 20-rnd box of Federal hollow points, but with the way things are going, I figured it is time to purchase more."

I have a Colt Delta Elite, and I'm pretty well stocked w/ ammo, but I suppose that right now, there is a slight advantage in having a less than mainstream round. I was in Academy last night, and the 50 rd. boxes of Blazer FMJ were still about $25. The Hornady Hollow points were about $24 for a 25 round box, which are not aberrant prices for 10mm. Moreover, there still seemed to be quite a bit in stock (though once they're gone, I'm guessing they'll be few and far between).

Every gun show over the past few years, I've been picking up Winchester Silver Tips, which are about the same as the Hornady's but my Colt just prefers the Winchesters.

Much like 1968. When the 1968 Gun Control Act managed to include almost every firearm the antis hated at that time. Namely 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifles, surplus handguns, small foreign made handguns and “military” equipment.

An antiques dealer in Tulsa was raided because he imported “military equipment”, namely flintlock flints from England.

It is interesting that the very firearm that was used to kill Bobby Kennedy (and got the gun ban wheels rolling)was NOT banned. It was made in the US by Iver Johnson, a .22 Cadet.

The Democratic Party as an entity hated the Kennedy’s and they were the reason that the party instituted the super-delegate system at their conventions — to keep a Kennedy from getting the nomination.

They will add those too no doubt. The only thing they might leave out are matchlock muskets, maybe.
