That’s what’s missing us off. He and Cantor acted all tough and then caved. They didn’t have a choice really and it’s due to their incompetence.

They should have been everywhere using any person and medium to tell Americans how we got here, what will be the result and how to fix it.

They let Obama and his acolites go on and on about their solution “class warfare” and they never hit back.

I thought Barry was a sissy but now he is emboldened to stand and pretend he’s tough and make demands appended with “I won’t accept” or I’ll only accept.

What’s Bone gonna do now? What’s his plan?

His back isn’t up against a wall so much as he is wandering listlessly and aimlessly through the meadow like a young deer foal finding everything interesting but what should be of utmost importance and acting with the urgency this damned problem demands.

Boner is a Poosy. Period, end of story.

He can’t throw a Hail Mary and hasn’t got a prayer.

He needs to get some elbow pads and knee pads because he apparently likes being publicly mounted.

Complete and utter disaster....

your support for failure

Because I've said the job of Speaker is a thankless one? And I suppose you think you're supporting some kind of success? I don't see many accomplishments there.

There still has been no viable alternative proposed. Some people work with what they've got...some dream of utopia.

I am SOOOO tired of seeing this guy post excuse after of excuse on every thread concerning GOP failure.

The rest of us may disagree about a lot of things. But I cannot fathom how after what has transpired since the primaries, ANYONE can defend the Republicans.

No one with reason and a desire for honesty can. So that leaves either really stupid people or willing shills.

Yes, caving on immigration would indeed be a disaster and arguably lead to a GOP debacle come 2014.

I just can’t see the GOP moving on gun control. It would alienate the base even further, and as I said, they need some red meat to show the base prior to the 2014 midterms.

But immigration is also a disaster. Just not as massive a disaster as moving on gun control would be.

Still waiting for your explanation of why the GOP caved after you went on a multi-thread spree to the contrary.

I imagine it will be a long wait.

A thankless wait.

They didn’t have a choice really and it’s due to their incompetence.

It's due to the decision to take a gamble that we would have a Republican president and Senate now. They agreed to a temporary extnesion of the Bush tax cuts figuring they could make them permanent now. Unfortunately it didn't happen. If it had worked out it would seem like genius. But I don't fault that. Sometimes you have to take a gamble, and it was probably the best option at the time.

Caved or compromised?

Both sides gave some.

Did you think we'd get it all?

It won’t make a damn bit of difference. LOL Sorry, but the ballot box is no longer a place to air your grievances. Nobody left to care about your protest.

The election process has been compromised and the Marxists will win no matter what voter persuasion you are.

Do you really believe that because you registered as an independent that it will change a damn thing? GOP may care, but they are helpless, just like you are. Hah!

You need to watch the movie, “Agenda”. Too little too late.

Activism is all that is left to even stab at a change. So far on our side that ain’t happening. You or me think we have clout? Nope, we don’t and snippy will not cut it.

Boehner should have told obama I will only negotiate in a public setting. Let the people see obama being intractable.

Simple thought ~ if I were a Democrat candidate I'd prefer real Democrat campaign workers. If I were a Republican candidate I'd prefer real Republican campaign workers.

So you will represent yourself as 'what' when you volunteer for some candidate?

Sounds like the trick ol'scuzzifuzzi pulled in New York. They're watching for that one these days you know.

That proved it. A man CAN INDEED function without a brain.

Do you feel any embarrassment? Any? You should.

To those of you for whom this is old hat, please just move right along.
For the rest, and in response to an FRmail regarding the procedure, this is how one changes their voter registration in PA.
This can, of course, also be done at your county voter reg. offices in person . . .

- - - - - -

Q: Perhaps you can inform all FReepers what the procedure is. Up to now I have just ignored the GOP phonecalls and letters begging for money.

It's usually a simple thing, depending on your state's setup.

I'm in PA, and all it took was downloading and filling out a new voter registration form, then mailing it in.

Probably the easiest route for you would be to Gargle your county/state names followed by elections, ie 'Whatever County PA elections'.

The resulting links should take you to whatever your local authority is that handles such.

Any county not still residing in the stone age should have a link to voter registration forms and/or have one on the site that you can copy/paste/print/complete/mail.

In my case, it was simply a matter of checking the 'Change of Party' box, then 'No Affiliation' (the PA wording, further down the page), confirming that my address etc was the same, and printing an envelope for it.

The gutless RNC pukes build their database begging lists on voter rolls, so once you're no longer registered GOP, most of that crap should stop.
Not to say that some other outfit basing theirs on Independents won't pick up the slack and fill your mailbox with their crap, but such is the state of things these days .. lol/groan.

Ah yes. Personal attack but no substance. Typical of people who have no realistic ideas but who just love to whine.

For many, such will be the last patriotic attempt for the ballot box.

Failing that, and if other 'boxes' must inevitably follow, I pray my aging body can be of some use.

If not as a fellow resident of the history books, I'd at least hope to contribute to the collective consciousness allied with the view of P.Henry.

So you will represent yourself as 'what' when you volunteer for some candidate?

Present myself as precisely what I am .. a patriot w/ integrity, disgusted with the gutless status quo whores of the GOP, who sees some promise in the views espoused by this (xyz) candidate and hopes 'you' will too.

Still waiting for an explanation about all those threadhacks filled with excuses for Bhoner and the GOP.

I mock you for all the right reasons.

1: YOU and those like you are the reason conservatives can’t get organized. Everytime it begins, there one of you is to tell us all why we can’t and sow dissension.

2: You are fully deserving of it based on your post history.

3: Because I can. You give me so many...’excuses’ to.

A hugh ps:

.. because you registered as an independent that it will change a damn thing?

Me, alone ?
Of course not, hence > FEW,000,000

It would likely only have a chance at making a dent if a million + currently registered Rs suddenly vanished from the RNC books and, most importantly, their donations right along with them.

I'm the reason a viable contender for Speaker couldn't gain steam?

Coming up with Alan West for Speaker (a man who never even hinted he wanted the job) is "getting organized"? Classic blame game you're playing there.
