Walmart ‘Not Guilty’ on Ammo Charge?
American Clarion ^ | January 16, 2013 | Gina Miller

Posted on 01/16/2013 8:01:31 AM PST by WXRGina

Thanks to WND’s Chelsea Schilling’s on-top-of-it reporting, I am now wondering what the deal is. The news exploded across the Internet this past weekend that Walmart was no longer going to be selling ammunition, because of the potential for lawless executive orders from the criminal fraud in the White House which will target our God-given rights as declared by the Second Amendment.

It caused massive outrage. The last thing American patriots want to see is more of the sickening caving and bowing by American businesses to Barack Obama (or whatever his name is) and his hideously wrong dictates. But, it seems the public’s outrage may be premature, or it could be that the outrage outweighed Walmart’s fear of Comrade Obama.

Either way, according to Chelsea Schilling’s report, a Walmart spokesman denied the charge:

… the retail giant tells WND the reports aren’t true.

“That information is inaccurate,” said Ashley Hardie, a spokeswoman located at Walmart’s corporate headquarters in Bentonville, Ark.

WND then asked whether the retail chain is cutting back on orders of ammunition.

“No,” Hardie said. “We’re continuing to serve our customers as we have in the past.”

She said Walmart’s ammunition sales policy has not changed, even amid talk of gun-control legislation in Washington, D.C.

The uproar began when the InvestmentWatch blog posted a story headlined, “Breaking & confirmed: Walmart is not going to order any more ammo.”

CNS News cited the report, and talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh mentioned it during his Monday show. CNS has since removed the report from its own site.

While this sounds good, it is just one brief statement from a Walmart representative in the face of a number of man-on-the-street reports to the contrary. We certainly hope Walmart is not considering a preemptive cave to Obama’s lawless dictates.

Yes, Obama is lawless, and his phony claim that he wants legislation (even if it’s his own diktat) to crack down on “gun violence” is a smokescreen for his true intention: to disarm law-abiding American gun owners. Anything he tries is unconstitutional. As Publius Huldah writes in her latest column, “Gun Control, the Dick Act of 1902, Bills of Attainder & Ex Post Facto Laws”:

the 2nd Amendment to our federal Constitution recognizes that this God-given right to keep and bear arms is to be free from any interference WHATSOEVER from the federal government.

Furthermore, the federal government is nowhere in the Constitution granted authority to restrict, in any fashion whatsoever, guns, ammunition, etc. Thus, ALL laws made by Congress, ALL regulations made by the [Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives], are unconstitutional as outside the scope of the powers granted to Congress and to the Executive Branch by our Constitution. Regulation of arms and ammunition is NOT one of the “enumerated powers” delegated to Congress or the Executive Branch.

If Obama truly wanted to reduce gun violence, then he would support and encourage state and local efforts to squash the criminals who are committing the gun violence. Law-abiding Americans are not the ones out raining murderous evil down on their fellow Americans—that would be the criminals, whether they are lawless gang members or otherwise deranged lunatics.

The fact is that we already have laws against murder and assault, and more laws that target guns will not stop criminals from either possessing or misusing guns to commit crimes. Everyone with even a modicum of rational thought knows this. Every sentient American also knows that the goal of the communist Left is to disarm law-abiding American citizens, and it is a scary day in which we currently find ourselves, with our post-communist-coup federal government poised to realize its utopian dreams of a disarmed and subjugated American populace.

Of course, we’ll just see about that, now won’t we? I can already hear readers saying, “Just let them try it.”

I can understand an ammo shortage, because of the crook in the White House and the commies in Congress and the administration. Everyone’s buying it up as fast as they can. Of course, the government already put a dent in the supply of hollow point .45s.

I’m heading to Walmart this weekend to pick up a long gun, either .243, .308, or .30-06

Local policies to address a shortage are a vastly different thing than corporate policies suspending ammo sales.

Watch what is on their shelves, not what their spokespeople are saying.

Obama no doubt would like them to get out of the gun business. And he is capable of unleashing Environmental Enforcement/Union Organizing Hell on them if they don’t play ball with him.

But you’re right, though; read down thru the article and look at the list of all the calibers & quantities they bought! I had no idea it was than varied until after I’d posted. .45s are in there, too. Yikes.

Here in the East have a friend who works shipping. Says they're getting plenty of ammo to Wal Marts all over but the demand is higher than their record supplies. Says WM is showing no signs of slowing down and wants all they can get as fast as they can.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this admin would put false information out in an attempt to blackmail Wally. Trust only what you see. If ammo is available and Wally has nothing you have your answer.

I would think that would easily be the case. Sales of ammo are big business right now. Why would they not want the profit?

The Government buying up billions of rounds recently has probably caused a shortage too.

Maybe they wanted to create a run on ammo, then crashing demand after everyone is done, so as to put the manufacturers out of business

I went to Wal-Mart to see if they received any ammo since a week ago. No luck. Shelves almost bare. They had a stack of 38 special priced at $36 for 50. The same expensive ammo was also there a week before. Price tags for other 38 special were showing $16 to $20. Being curious, I looked closely to see why they were so expensive compared to the other price tags (without available ammo). I noticed the $36 price tag was for 125 grain. The available ammo above that price tag was 130 grain. The 130 grain ammo was stacked over the WRONG tag, which is why it was still there.

I bought all six boxes.

I visited my local Walmart this morning (Wed,1/16) and the sporting goods clerk told me that ALL orders that WERE in “the system” are no longer there.
Meaning that what’s on the shelves will be all there is and nothing more is coming for now. How long “now” is is not known.

Keep it comin'! MGD's company has been working on the manufacture of @mmo because the normal suppliers just can't keep up. They have over $3mil in orders right now and are hiring 5 more people to keep up with the demand. It's stimulus of the very best kind, baby!!!

The 230 grain round nose will still do the trick! I have managed to buy 12 boxes over the last two weeks at Academy at $20.00 per box.

Visited the local Walmart yesterday. Their supply of ammo has gone from full to zero in 2 months. The store CS said it’s because they “don’t sell guns”; to which I said that they had sold ammo for years before without selling guns.

Today, I called their corporate office to complain and “Stephanie” told me that they are “reevaluating whether they are going to sell guns and ammo in any of their stores, BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED IN THE SCHOOL SHOOTING.” I was directed to post a complaint on their website, to which I responded that because of one nut who stole a gun and shot up the school, WQalmart has decided that I am a criminal for buying ammo. I ended the conversation with a promise not to shop at Walmart and that I would be posting their answer on the internet.

You will probably find that ammunition for the .243 or 30-’06 is much more readily available than .308 Win. You might also look at a .270, if one is available.

You’re probably right about that. I’ll probably go with the 30-06. Even though I’d load my own, I imagine brass should be pretty reasonbly priced for the 30-06.

In this present insanity, .30-'06 brass and loaded ammo is easier to find (not necessarily easy to find) than .308. Other components are pretty much the same, and hard to find.

Three possible responses...

1. The sporting goods clerk is ignorant...

2. The sporting goods clerk has an agenda and is lying...

3. You have an agenda and are lying...

I will take number 1, consider number 2, and pray that number 3 is considered only as an academic possibility.
