People Control, the First Amendment and Article V
Dan Miller's Blog ^ | January 24, 2013 | Dan Miller

The First Amendment provides,

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. (Emphasis added.)
As the free exercise of religion comes to be considered old fashioned, irrelevant to daily life and to be opposed "progressively" -- and as political correctness becomes an increasingly common, "modern" and often successful opponent of free speech -- the bright colors of the First Amendment fade into muted pastels through "progressive" executive and legislative action and through judicial interpretation. Perhaps the American Flag will eventually be redesigned with pale grayish stars on a field of light blue, muted pink and gray stripes.

For a long time I have been posting my articles in their entirety. This article is nearly four thousand words in length and I have heard that there are concerns about wasting too much of FR's bandwidth.

Should it be requested that I re-post the entire piece here, I will be happy to do so.

Yes, you should post the whole piece here.

We do not exist to provide your blog with hits.

HG, I will be happy to do so, as I have with many other articles, if someone who does not appear to have a one track mind devoid of interest in substance requests it.

I seem to recall one of your earlier comments complaining about wasting FR bandwidth by posting entire articles.

Negative, that hasn't ever been one of my issues.

Now post your content if you wish.

I will be happy to do so, as I have with many other articles, if someone who does not appear to have a one track mind devoid of interest in substance requests it.

Ah. So will you stop farming FR for hits only if someone of whom
you approve requests that you do so. Gotcha. Makes perfect sense.

For a long time I have been posting my articles in their entirety.

But times are tough and a penny-per-click along with Google-Ads
might buy you some noodles and a hooker and perhaps a bit of
meth if enough suckers click on you blog. Click away, suckers!

My site carries no advertising and never has, so I won't get any noodles and a hooker and perhaps a bit of meth to send to you, no matter how badly you may want or need them.

Just a friendly question, so please don't take offense: Did you work hard at learning to write discourteously, or did it just come naturally?

Discourteous on my part?

Really?

Am I the one directing FReepers offsite to feed my most base needs?

No, not I.

Now post your little writings and stop trying to trick people into visiting your blog.

It costs nothing to click your link.
I hope you get as many hits as you want.
Most Freepers don’t assume that all posts at this site require their criticism.
Some do....

I went there so you would get the hit...

So you not only agree with but ACTIVELY ENABLE blogpimps to use Free Republic as a free advertising platform?

Bully for you, that's certainly an admirable stance.

Are you suggesting that this person has only posted in order to get some hits?

Are you implying that the poster is just a stinking blogpimp?

No, I just don’t like “hall monitor” types.

No, I just don’t like “hall monitor” types.

So if someone displays bad behavior in public, like cutting in line in front of you, you'll sheepishly allow it rather than be a "hall monitor" type.

Gotcha.

Down here, if someone is rude enough to cut in line, they’re rude enough to whip your ass in public....lol
So, unless you enjoy fighting, win or lose, I would shop at a different WalMart.

You can’t teach everyone manners. But, you can watch your own.
