“Shadows against a clear blue sky? Probably photo’d against a blue table cloth. I call BS.”

Its real. I can’t find the link right now but you can buy those off the shelf. They are auto-piloted using built in GPS. Just tell it where to go using a computer interface and it flies itself to that point. It’s also programmable for fairly complex flight plans.

They come with options for cameras and other light payloads.

Six blades/motors - with a camera and the landing gear or skids...the number of blades allows smooth transition for the camera...a small portable UAV...or VTOL

Since video cameras would be the first element of its payload, a duck load would identify the person who shot it down. However, I've got to believe that those cameras aren't looking up. The lack of hemispherical situational awareness of the operator is my chief argument against them being allowed to operate above 500 ft AGL. $50-60 will get you a sacrificial RC helo that could try to land on top of the offending voyeur ("Peeping Tom" for those of you in Rio Lindo). Not that I would ever do such a destructive thing, of course. Merely speculating what could happen.

Makes a person wonder if Moslems in the US already have some form of weaponized drones that could say carry a biological agent into a theme park or something.

Personally I would definitely address the issue of an anti-drone defense net in key locations, especially outside public events.

“Watch the video at the link”

Why are you trolling for hits from a video you had nothing to do with?
Why send people to your blog? Video right here:

How about a small acoustic drone that homes in on the sound of a small UAV and crashes into it, or drags a tough filament into its rotors?

Ron became one of the good guys after 9/11 he had an epiphany of sorts.

Those are almost certainly antennae on the bottom of that thing.

No, they're landing struts, like the legs on a regular helicopter.

It's about 4 ft. across so it really isn't that small.......

I dunno, they look like they are landing rails to set down on to me. Although, they could have antenna built into them.

If I were to get something like this and just have it hovering over say ... police headquarters or a federal building or maybe the neighborhood of some high profile politician how long would it take the laws to get changed?

Any good duck load will be sufficient!

I used to be pretty good at tossing playing cards across the room into the basket. And flicking bottle caps, too. Maybe I should sharpen back up. (No law against those - yet).

I might not be able to hit a hi-flyer, but if they start sending them within reach.....
