Details of Schumer’s Mandatory Background Check Bill (S. 374) (NOT GOOD!)

The main provision of the bill is that any transfer of a firearm, no matter how fleeting, needs to go through an FFL and the transferee needs to have a background check performed through the NICS system. There are some exceptions, but they arent very good ones.
As one of the provisions designed to alleviate the fears of the gun-owning public, it looks like theres a provision in here that permanently sets the price of all FFL transfer fees to the same amount. That number will be set by the Attorney General, which these days is still Eric Holder. The current speculation is that this FFL fee will be used to do what the NFA tax was originally designed to do make buying or transferring a gun so expensive that almost no one can do it.

Sounds like something the Republicans can agree with along with “their good friends across the aisle”.

Just like Obamacare, this bill empowers unelected bureaucrats.
It should be dead based on that alone!

This would mean Civil War Two, and any congress critters who vote for it will be traitors to the Constitution. Word.
If you leave home for more than 7 days and leave anyone at home, that becomes a felony illegal transfer. 5 years in prison for each of you.
if you take a friend shooting and allow him to fire your gun, that is a felony illegal transfer. 5 years in prison for each of you.
If you ...have a gun lost or stolen and dont report it within 24 hours, youve committed a felony. 5 years in prison.
If you lend a gun to someone for to try out at the range, provide a loaner for a student in training, let your son shoot a rifle you purchased while hunting, or provide a gun to a woman for self-defense, youve committed a felony. 5 years in prison for each of you.

So if the coppers come and try to take your guns, are you responsible for the transfer fee or are they?

The vote record on that should certainly be publicized. It shouldn’t be passed in any form. If they’re outlawing the Second Amendment right of any subgroup in any way, they’re after us all.

Yes, the fee could possibly be set sky high. But at any amount, it could leave a whole lot of folks stuck with their investments or in prison and completely wiped out by their neighbors and judicial friends, as the economy continues to collapse. The stake$ would certainly go high for turncoats.

They're fascists. They'll follow up by offering rewards to traitors, especially on local levels. Several of the gun control laws that are more expected to pass are designed to take conservatives down.
