Electoral defeats and the Tea Party's diminishing influence have sapped support for the law's repeal
Saturday marks the Affordable Care Act's third anniversary and with it, the third anniversary of Republican efforts to undo the law.
The future of the law, which fueled the Tea Party's rise and cost Democrats control of the House, was for a long time in doubt. But after the Supreme Court upheld the law, and President Obama won re-election in convincing fashion, calls for repeal have grown noticeably quieter.

Republicans still say they oppose the law, and have backed that talk with votes to defund all or part it. In the latest such instance, they passed Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-Wisc.) budget, which cut funding for the program. Yet that legislation was clearly more about trimming the budget as a whole than it was an assault on ObamaCare specifically.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) introduced the first bill of this legislative session, one that would fully repeal ObamaCare. It's the same bill she's rolled out twice before, but unlike years past, Bachmann couldn't find a single co-sponsor this time around. So while she denounced the law on the House floor on Wednesday, saying it "literally kills women, kills children, kills senior citizens," she did so with a much smaller coalition backing her up.
So what changed? Was Republican opposition silenced by those mysterious death panels?
For one, Obama won re-election. Republicans had held out hope that a Romney presidency would give them enough power to nix the law.....

Maybe the more relevant question is how long before Obamacare kills the medical sector entirely.
Perhaps at such time it would be wise to further assess the anti-Obamacare movement.
Is Yahoo News finally dead?: ‘Pathetic online news site peddles propaganda under orders from Obama. And no, it’s not Huffington Post’.
If we had any real leaders in the House, we would just refuse to fund it.
NEVER
I don’t think the anti-Obamacare movement has even begun to gather steam. But the pot is simmering and heating up all the time.
If. We don’t.
Most of the elected officials who were strongly opposing it in 2010 are embracing it now.
There was never any real opposition after if ceased to be a campaign issue. The Progressive members of the GOPe have always been in favor of moving us into a managed health care since they know Medicaid and Medicare are unsustainable.
Boehner the "ObamaCare is the law of the land," speaker has derailed every attempt to defund ObamaCare, maybe someone should ask him.
Increased insurance premiums throughout the rest of the year will be big. But, it’s here to stay..leading to the state run system ala Canada and Europe.
I don’t think they will be a year from now. I don’t see how 0bamaCare can do anything but create havoc with health care and the economy. It will amaze me if it doesn’t.
The stupidity of today’s American public is overwhelming, as shown by the reelection of the illegal immigrant Marxist.
Whatever Obumbo wants, Obumbo gets.
I wouldn't use the verb "won". Stole through fraud is the accurate description.
The enemedia will get real creative about papering over it with glowy words and fashionable statements.
...we’re not done finding out what’s in it yet...
Yes, they will. I said almost the same thing earlier today. But it will be a little hard to hide when no one can get a doctor’s appointment, insurance rates go through the roof, emergency rooms are 10X as crowded as they are today, unemployment starts to rise again and the economy tanks worse than it has to date. But they will try.
I pay cash for my doctors appointment and have ADHD.
I don’t waste my Dr.’s time and he doesn’t make me wait.
Nice arrangement.
I’m actually looking forward to Dr. on call and Long Island treatments. Faster and easier.
Costs bucks but, I don’t care. Hate waiting and hate the word no even more.
