Welcome to the new normal I guess. Still, it’s not the America I grew up in - in so many ways. But really, the military has to patrol the streets?
That’s something I’ll never get used to. The only place that happened was in Communist Countries/Dictatorships that I remember. Even when the weather underground bombed the Pentagon etc. I just don’t remember seeing a bunch of tanks rolling through some major American city.
It pains me deeply to type this. Some 238 years ago, some real Massachusetts tough guys made their stand at Concord Bridge, and fired the shot heard round the world. This week, those Masachusetts were told to “shelter In place.” Does this mean that the Bay Staters have had the Minuteman DNA bred out of them. I lived in MA for four good years and met some fine men who would not have voluntarily given up their freedom to defend themselves.
Americans have had the Minutemen DNA bred out of them. No more Spirit of '76, no more outrage of December 7th, 1941...just trite and meaningless lives, Gangam Style.

It'll take a complete overhaul of the education system, a gutting of welfare, a gutting of Social Security (back to the retirement supplement plan that it was originally intended to be), rescinding a whole lot of laws and EOs, the creation of a conservative/patriotic pop culture, and on and on.
Or there's the "easy" way...get invaded and be threatened with the very survival of our nation. Even that's not assured, though...if the Chicoms promise free crap to the gibsmedats, they'd fall right in line.
In short, it's gonna take Divine intervention, because God's the only one who can straighten out this mess.

I concur with all of wku man’s comment, but especially his last paragraph.
Our only real recourse at this time is our Lord, and sadly, so many of our people are out of the way, that it is appearing more and more that a chastening is in order.
Joshua told us to “come apart and be a separate and chosen people.” The wrath of God is intended for the evil doers, but if His children are in the way of that wrath, and they have not “come apart” whether physically or spiritually, then that wrath will also sweep them up. IMHO it is very important for people of faith to be petitioning God to save the souls who must not be lost, and for the Lord to place His sealing upon them.
Nevertheless, we may also claim the promise that the Lord gave to Abraham, that for the sake of the 10 He would “spare the city.” I do believe that we as a nation DO have at least 10% of the righteous, and for their sakes, He would spare us - if these ones truly came apart from the evil doers at all levels.
Also, it is my understanding that it was only about 30% of the population who were active participants in the original Ameriican Revollution. ...with many unnamed sympathizers. Recent election numbers seem to show we have at least that many solid Americans who love Freedom and the set-up of the Original Founding.
There is mercy available, but IMHO, it must be prayed for and requested fervently and daily.
I have recently read the book “Harbinger” by Jonathan Cahn, and believe it to be very worth reading.
I have just received an email from a friend who is a relative newcomer to things political. [Lifelong democrat flipped to the good side.] Several times he has sent around emails advocating for a Constitutional Convention. What he truly seems to be advocating for, is some Constitutional Amendments. (Which I’m totally in favor of!)
I am capable of explaining to him why that is not a wonderful idea to have a Constitutional Convention, but I was hoping someone here could direct me to a source where this is explained very clearly and succinctly...and said source is better known than me, his neighbor, and therefore having more weight of persuasion than anything I could say.

It’s obvious that the American people are not going to do anything about keeping from sliding down that slippery slope. Sadly, they’re going to take rest of us with them. Too bad we can’t sign a petition requesting Divine Intervention.
