The Good Guys Are Not Coming To Save Us
Zero Hedge (originally published at Free Man's Perspective) ^ | April 23, 2013 | Paul Rosenberg

Posted on 04/27/2013 8:32:13 AM PDT by Starboard

A lot of Americans know that the US government is out of control. Anyone who has cared enough to study the US Constitution even a little knows this. Still, very few of these people are taking any significant action, and largely because of one error: They are waiting for “the good guys” to show up and fix things.

Washington is an unfettered beast. The system will NOT fix itself.

Absolutely true and a good post overall.

I beg to differ a tad .... it is NOT We the People who are buying the never ending river of BS ...

it is We the:

Lazy,
Victocrats,
Possessed of a Guilty Conscience,
Ignorant,
Dumbed Down,
Illegal Aliens,
“Down Trodden” Minorities
Red Diaper Doper Babies grown to “Adult”hood
and Those wearing Rose Colored Glasses 7 x 24

subgroup who keep buying the never ending river of BS, despite incontrovertible facts that their views have not, are not and never will be justified in the real world, so long as any significant portion of the people retain ANY individuality and freedom to pursue life, liberty and happiness; or to better their personal condition beyond that of the average.

Agree, and I don’t see any end to the naievete. There’s a psychological concept that’s called a “life altering event”. People don’t really change short of experiencing a serious wake up call. IMO this concept can be generally extended to the country as a whole. We won’t change until we are forced to.

"We do however have a chance to turn this around. America is only in this mess for 3 1/2 more years."

In 3 1/2 years, you won't recognize the United States. To be honest with you, I don't recognize it now. Maybe I'm too old.

There’s a crop of Obama clones waiting in the wings. With the help of the massive base of low information voters and the swelling numbers of Takers there’s a good chance that the downhill slide will continue for another 8 years, barring some type of calamity that necessitates a reset.

I really don’t see a way to recover from this. We are too far gone, in my opinion.

I agree. Although it shouldn't surprise us. What is the result of a democracy where all the voters are sinners? Not good.

Jesus is coming to rule. Come Lord Jesus.

And why should the “good guys” rush in to fix things? They have truly “gone Galt”, seeing that investment is regarded as hostile by the Current Regime, and return is taxed more and more heavily.

Until this climate changes, the “good guys” are going to remain elusive and withhold the sum of their experience and talents.

“Let the bastards freeze in the dark.”

Good post. The Tea Party did succeed in getting people out into the streets and achieving results in 2010. They made a statement that resonated with a lot of people. Unfortunately, that movement has largely faded away and resistance is largely confined now to, as you say, sitting behind a computer. IMO a MASSIVE march on DC or other major cities with the right theme would be a start to get back into action mode. Politicians are weasels; they fear large crowds.

Start by opening up the oil and gas industry to public lands and the Keystone pipeline. Energy IS the future, with the focus aimed at lowering costs through the free market. We will be the worlds energy producer, and after that point we can focus on more exotic energy like fusion technology.

Cut the costs to doing business which are associated with any sort of taxes.

Slash government, EPA, IRS while simplifying the tax code, apply the gold standard to lock down inflation.

If it isn’t necessary to defend our borders and vital national interest, slash it and shut it down. NEA to the Dept of Ed.

Abolish Obamacare and deregulate the entire healthcare system, including the FDA. Yes, deregulate it and let the free market...free. Costs would plummet and quality would be rewarded. New doctors we need would be flooding in, applying to the new legal immigration system which would NOT reward being “illegal”.

Do we have the guts? The character?

It IS up to us.

The only way to save us is to divide the country in two. Liberals and conservatives have reached the point of hatred with no middle ground. There is noway this country can be saved as it is.

Agree totally. Divide it, there is no common ground. It is cruel for both sides to be forced together in a contrived union.

Maybe, maybe not.

I think there was a significant portion of our media just, (and irrationally) in love with being part of something historically significant - electing a black president.

For them all logic was swept out the door. To this day nobody in either party, dares criticize Obama.

That changes in 3 1/2 years. That is my point.

Tax Revolt.
Or violent revolt.

I prefer tax revolt.
Seems to me these are tools we have left in the box.

I have been preaching on FR and FB for years since the Tea Party stopped doing what had been successful. I attended the 9/12/09 massive March on D.C. along with FR folks and about one million other people. Prior to that, dozens of Tea Party rallies had gone on starting on 4/15/09... Glenn Beck had his huge rally in D.C. in October 2010... These rallies - Big and Small are what elected around 63 new so called Conservatives to the House - taking back the House for Republicans. Since then most of those ‘conservatives’ have been co-opted by the Establishment Republicans. For the life of me I cannot understand why the Tea Party stopped doing was had been so successful. You’re right Politicians do not like big crowds.. So I suggest even BIGGER ONES... get 3-4 million people in D.C. and shut it down...

Well, we can hope. But let’s be realistic. The entrenched bureaucracy, impermeable to election results, can destroy the work of any Hero on a White Horse who rides in to save us.

The power shifted to the bureaucracy long ago. The bureaucracy has to be neutralized or checked by the Great Conquering Hero.

I hope someone has a plan. I don’t see how it can be done.

I would part with a large amount of cash to see the look of shock on any member of Congress’ face when he hears the simple word “No.”
