Second Amendment Check is a great organization that enables you to support the right to bear arms with your wallet, rewarding companies who support the Second Amendment, and boycotting companies who don't. This organization deserves your support (click on the "Donate" button and email them a "thank you"). You should shop according to their evaluation of gun-friendly or gun-unfriendly businesses.
Second Amendment Check "reach[es] out to companies via email and telephone" to determine which businesses support the constitutional right to bear arms. They rate those willing to participate. Note that Second Amendment Check states, "If we can't get in direct contact with the company we will use any other credible information to evaluate them." They have "devised a rating system to evaluate each company as uniformly as possible." Their rating system categorizes businesses on a color-coded scale/spectrum regarding the companies' strength/weakness of support for Second Amendment ("2A") rights:
Rating | Recommend Action | 2A Category |
A+ | Support & Praise | Champion of 2A Rights |
A | Support | Fully Supports 2A Rights |
B | Support | Mostly Supports 2A Rights |
C | Encourage | Inconsistent |
D | Avoid | Noteworthy Infringement |
F | Boycott | Unacceptable Infringement |
Here are some of the many resources that Second Amendment Check offers, giving you the ability to vote with your hard-earned dollars:
Here's part of their elegant mission statement:
... We know the truth; that bad guys with guns don't just stop and turn back because they observe a silly "Gun Free Zone" sign. In fact, those signs are probably exactly what bad guys look for when choosing a target. They know that there will be no armed resistance, and nothing but victims await them ahead. We know the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun. This is not just about principle, it's about our own safety. "Gun Free Zones" are unsafe, because there is no way to resist a determined armed attacker.
The time has come for law abiding Americans to stand together and fight for our rights before the forces that would disarm us make too much progress. Stop enriching those that would disarm you. Check them out before you buy and if your rights are not respected TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.
So what are you waiting for? Use Second Amendment Check to make your spending decisions. Donate to them (click on the "Donate" button) and send them a "thank you" (here's their email link.)
NOTE: netwmd.com, LLC has no formal or financial relationship with Second Amendment Check. We believe they are taking appropriate action to support the right to bears and that they are worthy of media exposure and praise.
Great link. Thanks for all the hard work.
But I now have a real problem. Quit buying our office supplies at Office Depot because of their contributions to groups that support counseling for gay students who are “bullied” in the classroom. Switched to Staples. Now Staples is on this Boycott list. Guess it’s back to the internet to try and find someone else.
We’re running out of suppliers in some types of businesses but it certainly makes it easier to not spend any money!
In times of doubt, use discretion. Life is often paradoxical and the answers are found in a middle path. Choices. Always choices. Do your best.
If I had any money.....
If I had a job.....
I keep a list of companies I choose not to buy from in my car. Every week I take my twelve-year-old grandson out to dinner and he always checks the list to see if anyone new has been added or someone taken off. If there are new companies we talk about my reasons for doing so.
Last week he said he “sure hope CFA doesn’t ever go lib on us because that’s my favorite place to eat”. Out of the mouths of babes.
Visit SAMs Club. They have a lot of office supplies.
Forgot about them. May be forced to renew my card again. One of my issues is that I just don’t have any extra time to run around doing more errands and schlepping cases of copy paper is not something I enjoy doing. I do drive by one in the city when I go in every week to deal with client stuff but it’s generally after everyone there has gone to bed. But....
Thanks though for the reminder.
