5-year-old Interrogated by School Until He Wets His Pants... Because of Cap Gun
GOP USA ^ | 5/31/2013 | Bobby Eberle

Ok, come on. It seems like school officials are going nuts these days. Kids can't play "Cowboys and Indians," because that could lead to gun "violence." (Not to mention that the game is so un-PC.) Kids can't think of a gun, draw a gun, or even hold their fingers in the shape of a gun. So imagine what happened when a 5-year-old child brought a cap gun to school.

As reported by The Washington Post, "a kindergartner who brought a cowboy-style cap gun onto his Calvert County school bus was suspended for 10 days after showing a friend the orange-tipped toy, which he had tucked inside his backpack on his way to school"

The child was questioned for more than two hours before his mother was called, she said, adding that he uncharacteristically wet his pants during the episode. The boy is 5 -- "all bugs and frogs and cowboys," his mother said.

"I have no problem that he had a consequence to his behavior," said the mother, who asked that her name be withheld to protect her son's privacy.

"What I have a problem with is the severity," she said, and the way it was handled.

According to the story on The Daily Caller, the boy brought the gun to school "because his friend had brought a water gun the previous day. He later told his mother than he 'really, really' wanted his friend to see it."

So... the boy brings a orange-tipped, cap gun to school and gets suspended for 10 days and gets "questioned" by school officials for two hours. Two hours!

Schools have gone completely overboard. But get this... consider what would have happened to the little boy if the cap gun has actually been "loaded." The Washington Post reports that "it would have been deemed an explosive and police would have been called in." An explosive? Has everyone gone insane? Would they have sent in the bomb squad to "disarm" this device?

"The school was quite obviously taking it very seriously, and he's 5 years old," she said. "Why were we not immediately contacted?"

The family's attorney, Robin Ficker, said that the age of the child is important and that the incident could have been used as a teachable moment.

"Kids play cowboys and Indians," he said. "They play cops and robbers. You're talking about a little 5-year-old here."

I feel so bad for this little boy, and if there are any penalties enforced, they should be against the school officials. Let's have some common sense for a change!

If this happened to my child....

I know. We wouldn't stand for it. Parents need to take back the schools. They are out of control and are damaging children.

I don’t generally like to provide commercial links on FR, and the Admin Mod will fix it if there are objections, however . . . natchezss has 100 round CCI .22 cal ammo at $0.08 and $0.09 a round. Considering recent prices, this is almost breaking news (still higher than a year ago but almost reasonable).

Eventually we graduated up to BB guns and pellet guns.

and I bet you still have both your eyes....

It is unnatural to be so afraid of a toy gun. If liberal educators had their way and made everyone afraid of guns, who would fight the wars? Boys play with toy guns.....period. What they did to this child was abuse.

They’re taking the ‘bull’ out of boys and making him them sheep. Sheep follow, and Democrats want followers not critical thinkers or resisters. This explains why so many soft, emasculated boys running around. All products of the gov’t indoctrination centers.

Everybody (outside the school) can see that this incident is beyond satire, but let’s step back and view the big picture, because it really isn’t about guns.

Clearly, the school staff knows nothing about children, child development or teaching. Why are they running the school at all?

It is good that I’m not that Dad.

Me:

“give me the offing toy NOW, and we’ll go find a non-Nazi school!”

“yes, you WILL give me the toy, as you have NO legal right to retain it!”

Maryland is the state also infamous for the asthma inhaler incident. A boy on a schoolbus was having a severe asthma attack (nearly to the point of turning blue). A girl on the schoolbus, also asthmatic, used her emergency inhaler on the boy. The ER doctor said that if the girl had not acted as she did, the boy would have suffered or died from severe asphyxiation. The girl was suspended by the school and thus had a drug charge on her record.
To work in any position in Maryland (or any subdivision) government, one has to be lacking of any intelligence. To the point of forgeting things when one goes for a dump.

Anybody who sends their kid to a government school is guilty of child endangerment.

Bingo!

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong; but I was under the impression that under federal law, you could not question or interrogate a minor unless one of their parents was present. Is that true?

Maryland —> State with 99% liberal teachers and administrators.

We have one in our family. I kept my offspring away until age 30.

Absolutely NOT , they have won the game ,, they got huge publicity out of this ... kids are now conditioned to fear even being in the presence of anything that resembles a gun. This is not the school per se , it is the goal of the left many levels above this local school admin.

Wow! You are among the few that "get it".

While the NRA will win skirmishes for a while, they will ultimate **LOSE**! Big Time! Why?

Reason: Because in every socialist-entitlement and godless K-12 school children are being INDOCTRINATED to fear and hate guns, hate the Second Amendment, and **HATE** (viscerally) the conservative who defend the Constitution. In ten years these children will be voters. And...The indoctrination continues on our nation's Marxist dominated college campuses.

NO! NO! NO! to any conservatives out there who FOOLISHLY believe that their child's institutional school is different. YOUR CHILD"S SCHOO IS ***NOT*** DIFFERENT! It's curriculum and textbooks are greatly influenced by the Marxist education powers that control the schools. And...Unless a teacher is over 50 or 55 the teachers in that school were indoctrinated into the Marxist worldview in their colleges of education. Anyway, does it matter if you accomplish the impossible and deprogram your child when the vast majority of voters have NOT been deprogramed by their parents?

Finally, many private schools are corrupt as well because their teachers are products of the Marxist colleges of education.

( Yes, I am shouting and jumping up and down. I am** exasperated** with conservatives who continue to believe this monstrosity of education can be reformed and fail to see the URGENCY and DANGER that these schools pose to our continuing freedom. Personally, I believe the battle for freedom has already been lost. It is likely too late. )

Time to haul our kids out of public schools and into group homeschooling classes under the supervision of competent adults.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yes, indeed!

There are whole counties and even entire states, where, if conservatives removed their children, the entire Marxist controlled and evil system of schooling would completely and utterly COLLAPSE!

I am willing to bet that God is not happy with Christians and conservatives for allowing this godless and socialist-entitlment system of K-12 schooling to remain open. It stays open because conservatives and Christians send their kids into these moral cesspools.

because it really isn’t about guns.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It's about emasculating little boys and raising up a generation of sissified and swishy Marxist voters are incapable of defending themselves and nation and utterly INCAPABLE of forming families , caring for, or defending wives and children!
