Cigs are up 1000% and so are cars. So why can I buy a refrigerator now for the same price as I paid in 1975?

I was born in 1975, so this resonates with me. And not for the better.

“You could drain a swamp or fill in a low spot on your property”

Yes! Before the Clean Water Act and the Glancing Goose Hypothesis.

#4 hasn’t been true since 1968

I bought a .22 rifle for my son in early 1980 something.

I guess the guy could tell I was over 18 since I had my son with me.

No ID and no forms to fill out.

Just 8 years earlier, blacks were burning down their cities.
Today, there’s nothing left of Detroit to burn, so they quit that practice.

Nope, wine, spirits and any beer I wanted. Then I landed at the San Francisco airport on my way to serve a one year tour in Korea. Couldn’t buy a drop.

"don’t think minors could buy cigarettes in 1975."

When I was a little kid in the 70's, I couldn't tell you how many times I'd be helping my dad in the garden and he'd send me to the corner store for a pouch of Levi Garret. If I'd been particularly good, he'd give me an extra $0.25 for a pack of baseball cards.

lol...if you have a dog, make sure he’s safe and secure elsewhere.....and leave the door wide open so you don’t have to fix it.

When we kids were particularly wound up scrapping buttheads,
Pop came home with two sets of boxing gloves.

He said I am tired of yall wanting to fight!
Yall want to fight?
Here..
Go fight!

Marquees of Queensberry rules..

I guess that is child abuse by today’s standards.

Not legally but i bought them when I was 12. I could get away with it because I was 6-0 and weighed 150.

Oh, here's a new one. You could have a lady come in once a week to help out with the housecleaning, and not have to keep employment or social security records.

Although I confess I still do that.

I was born in 1975, and I don’t think they HAD to get me a Socialist Insecurity Number.

I don’t recall ever not having the money. I think his fees must have been in line with most people’s income at that time.

He was well off because he worked 16 hours a day and was called out to deliver babies in the night. He had office hours and made hospital rounds.

Now, doctors charge high prices and hire a PA or NP to see patients. Most don’t go to the hospital.

The population in our county has declined also. But the number of doctors and other health care workers has greatly multiplied.

OMG!
I was churning butter at 5, making cake donuts and working the fields at 7.
When I got bigger I was haying the fields and scraping hogs.

Lordy, Lordy the abuse.

We always had the money, even though we were blue collar, But you knew the Doc personal back then, and barter could be arranged.
Now that is against the law.
We are all gonna deal with a Gov Bureaucracy soon.
It is bad enough already due to Teddy Kennedy.

Soon There will be no family Doc.
It will be the Gov run Walmart clinic.

All grievances to be filed via IRS.
