Obama Blasts Putin Over Treatment Of Gays, Ignores National Security
Political Realities ^ | 08/07/13 | LD Jackson

Once again, we bring you a story that shows us all exactly where President Obama's priorities really lie. We have Edward Snowden taking asylum in Russia. Al Qaeda is clearly not running scared from our attempts to shut them down. In spite of his attempts to brush them off as phony scandals, Benghazi, IRS, NSA, etc., are still hanging over Obama's head. And what does he want to talk about with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show? He goes after President Vladimir Putin for he supposed mistreatment of gays. This comes to us via BadBlue.

The Daily Caller - President Barack Obama lashed out at Russia’s treatment of its small population of sexual minorities on Tuesday, but he downplayed the massive intelligence victory over the United States that Russian strongman Vladimir Putin won by helping engineer Edward Snowden’s defection.

During an appearance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show,” Obama told host Jay Leno said he has “no patience for countries that try to treat gays and lesbians and transgendered persons in ways that intimidate them or are harmful to them.”

“I have been very clear that when it comes to universal rights, when it comes to people’s basic freedoms, that whether you’re discriminating on the basis of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation you are violating the basic morality that I think should transcend every country,” he declared.

Make no mistake. I am not in favor of the mistreatment of any individual or groups. I have read some about Russia's new laws about homosexuals and all I see is that they recognize the importance of a stable home environment with a mother and a father. Whether these laws go beyond that, I can not tell. What strikes me is the emphasis placed on this by our own President Obama. Surely, there are more important issues for him to discuss. We have national security problems running out of our ears, yet he is more concerned with how Russia treats homosexuals. He even questioned their commitment to fairness at the upcoming winter Olympics.
He also seemed to believe that Russia’s controversial new laws curbing apparent advocacy of homosexuality could cause problems at the 2014 winter Olympics in southern Russia.

“I think [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and Russia have a big stake in making sure the Olympics work,” he said.

“I think they understand that for most of the countries that participate in the Olympics, we wouldn’t tolerate gays and lesbians being treated differently — they’re athletes” he said. ”If Russia wants to uphold the Olympic spirit, then every judgment should be made on the track or in the swimming pool or on the balance beam and people’s sexual orientation shouldn’t have anything to do with it,” he said.

Obama - PutinWhat we have here is a classic move by Obama. Just as he has done on multiple occasions since taking office, he is suggesting a problem that doesn't exist. He suggested there was a problem in the arrest of a Harvard professor, just because he was black. He suggested there was a problem with the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman affair, just because Martin was black. He has used this same tactic countless times. All in the name of fairness and equality. Now he is trying the same thing with Vladamir Putin. Anyone care to guess how well that will go over with the Russian President?

Just as he has done in America, thrusting himself into situations that are none of his concern, I suspect his latest salvo at Putin will be a total bust. He seems to think just because he says something, that's how it is, or should be. He has suggested racism against blacks, discrimination against blacks and homosexuals, unfairness against the middle class, the list goes on and on. Time after time, he has given speeches that attempt to lead Americans to the believe that he is right about these issues. Does he really believe he can do the same with Vladamir Putin?

I would suggest President Obama pay more attention to the national security of the United States of America, rather than try to bully Russia and Vladamir Putin into changing their laws to combat a non-existent problem of discrimination against homosexuals. As President of the United States, Obama should have certain priorities. Russia's domestic policy shouldn't even be on the list.

the only gays who would be harassed are those who think yanking it out and shaking it in public is a good idea.

I think it may be his way of getting liberals who support what Putin is doing re Snowden, to turn against him.

Obama should just shut up since he can not run his own country except into the ground.

Putin is mad at Obama for protecting Monsanto and
other companies that are destroying bees; and
is outraged that Obama protects terrorists.

Obama says only al Qaeda and gays must be protected.

II really don’t have the full scoop on the situation of gay folks in Russia—but I do know that gov’t and a large part of the people don’t want pride parades where assorted body parts are practically exposed and dudes are slithering, writhing and gyrating to Madonna on the back of a truck (wonder what kind of floats they would make in Russia for gay pride?)

You know your country is going down the toilet when half the people respect the leader of another country more than their own, especially when it is its former nemesis.

We have national security problems running out of our ears, yet he is more concerned with how Russia treats homosexuals.

Zero has made it abundantly clear what is most important to him. The issues that touch his heart, that get him fired up when he speaks, are abortion, homosexuality, and Islam.

Everything else to do with being President - except the vacations - bores him.
