When I retire, I do not plan on collecting SS. I am already working on not needing them.

My home is paid for, and after retirement I will be selling my home and moving.

Yes, I am looking for a DR around here interested in doing so.

I did mentioned it to my DR, but he was clueless of what I was speaking of.

I guess I won’t be paying him for any medical assistance I may need.

I’ll choose Civil Disobedience should it come to that.

I have not had it for 8 years now

And I figure I am about $50,000 ahead of the game even after verious childhood illnesses, regular doctor and dentist appointments, and one hoptialization for a broken arm

just make sure you change you employee withholding amount

If you are usually due a REFUND at the end of the year, don’t expect to get it back after they ‘fine’ you

Underpay your taxes until filing. Then tell the ODdS to pound sand.

I believe I read that the “enforcement” of the fines was via withholding of your withholdings.

I would like to see a duscission of this somewhere.

If this is actually the way the law has been written, the workaround is obviously to correct your estimated taxes or W-2 withholdings so come tax time you get nothing back.

Right now I am in a position where I have coverage, that I never use... philosophically I have no need or desire to have any association with the “healthcare” business. I do not want to have an insecure electronic record in a database that the government will use to violate what are God-given rights.

It’s going to get worse before it gets better... this much is for certain.

Yes you are correct.

In my case, for the past 15 years I have had my withholding set so I must send in a check every April 15th.

So I am already ahead of their game.

When all is said and done it will be easier and cheaper NOT TO get health insurance and let the IRS take the ‘fine’

And that is what they want, anyway

Once everyone does that (except the elites) then we have single payer

Yes, he is a quiet, polite, kind of weird guy, in a genius sort of way.

I have known him for over 25 years. He used to come into the restaurant I used to manage for lunch everyday.

1. How old are you?

2. Does your wife have presc. drug coverage thru her medicare?

3. Do you have presc. drug thru your employer's coverage? If so, what is your co-pay?

If your health insurance costs $5,000 per month, your employer isn’t a very good insurance shopper.

$5,000 per year, I’d believe, but not $60,000 per year.

H&R Block informed my penalty will be $680. I’ve cut way back on prescribed medicine. I’m unemployed so far this year, don’t know how that will effect the penalty. Last year my medications without insurance average $80/month for generic. This year it’s $230/month for generic. I take 3 prescriptions which would not be covered under Obamacare unless I had the “Gold” package. I have no intentions of purchasing insurance as my house is no longer insured. My car deducable is now $2500. I would quickly spend down my cash for coverage and still have to pay for my medicines out of pocket. The whole Obamacare thing is fantasy.

I haven’t decided what to do yet, but I’ve lived on a cash basis for the most part for doctor appointments and prescriptions. It’s a lot cheaper with no insurance involved. after all, that’s how Americans have done it for decades before health insurance grew into a monster.

“I believe I read that the “enforcement” of the fines was via withholding of your withholdings.”

I read that Obamacare forces you to give over your bank information. Their intention was to just take the fine or whatever they say you owe them. Then, if they’ve miscalculated you must “apply” to get it back.

I just talked to a guy at the gym about his VA. He started trying to get disability in 2010. Their average turnaround on a request has been a year. He’s just had to apply all over again because a doctor somewhere along the line said he had no shortness of breath, which is not correct. So, all new doctor’s visits and all new forms. I suspect that the VA has had longer to get it right than Obamacare and that Obamacare will regularly have people die while waiting for “determinations.”

I admit I may be off on what they pay, but their cost has almost tripled in the last two years, and they will not be able to continue covering me next year because of the exorbitant cost to them,.
