Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, told a rally in Omaha last week that illegal immigration has killed more Americans than the attacks on September 11th.
King spoke an event Friday held for victims of crimes committed by people who are in the U.S. illegally.
Recalling a conversation he had with a former INS agent, Mike Cutler, during a congressional hearing, King said he asked Cutler, “How many Americans have died at the hands of [illegal immigrants] who did make it into America? What’s the price Americans are paying for an open door policy?”
King claims that Cutler responded, “‘I don’t know the answer to that, but I can tell you it will be in multiples of the victims of September 11th.’ Now that hits home doesn’t it?” he asked.
The total number of people who died during the 9/11 attacks is 2,996.
“Three thousand times something,” King said. “Three thousand times something, three thousand times X, is the magnitude of individual tragedies here in America.”
King read from a headlines compiled by his staff about deaths and injuries caused by illegal immigrants.
“Illegal alien charged with raping 13-year-old girl in Nebraska,” he read.
“Mexican national charged in fatal DUI crash in Texas,” he continued. “That’s another grave. That’s another grieving family.”
King said two people on his “small staff” alone have been “victims” of car accidents with undocumented immigrants who had no insurance.
State Sen. Charlie Janssen, R-Fremont, also spokes at the rally, which was held in memory of 93-year-old Louise Sollowin. Sollowin was raped and beaten in her South Omaha home in July. She died four days later from her injuries. The man charged with the crime, Sergio Martinez-Perez, is living in the U.S. illegally.

Its the truth. I’ll bet just about every FReeper can remember at least one local story of an American killed by an illegal in some way and its even true in states with relatively low numbers of illegals.
If our immigration laws were enforced the 9/11 attacks would not have happened in the first place. The 9/11 hijackers were illegal aliens.
Most were here on student visas. Some of them were expired.
Counting DWI kills it is a slam dunk.
One local case that has stuck in my mind.
In 2007 illegal alien Sergio Onofre was drunk when he struck and killed 14 year old Daniel P. Turner who was walking near Mendon Michigan. Turner was dragged under the car till Onofre ran off the road and struck a parked car.
In a plea deal Onofre plead no contest to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, causing death, and failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death. 4 other charges including vehicular manslaughter, fleeing and eluding, grand theft auto and one other charge were dropped as part of the deal.
Onofre was probably out of prison in under 2 years.

I have been printing off every story I have seen coming across my screen and sending them to Pete Olson and John Cornyn for at least the last 8 months. Asked Cornyn about the issue when I saw him at a meeting this summer - his response, “Well, I don’t recall seeing them so perhaps you have the wrong fax number.” Fax meet shredder!

Thankfully I already finished my coffee before seeing this. It saved my computer screen and keyboard. Hearing the truth shouldn’t be so astonishing by its rarity.
I’m so tired of hearing ‘ll million’. They’ve been using that same figure for over ten years........and they just keep on coming.

For the last 20 years illegals have killed at least 30 US citizens every day. This is well documented.
There’s also a heap of Chechen and other welfare queens who should have been deported or not admitted in the first place.
10,000 Americans killed would be an easy figure to come up with. The next Republican senator from Nebraska will be to the right of Deb Fischer so it doesn’t even suit the national RINO platform to try to hispander.
The Obama and RINO amnesty plans are not about deporting the most violent illegals. There actually the opposite. There are pundits who are worried that someone could get deported only for violating federal law. You put everyone you can get in deportation hearings and they will rat out worse illegal aliens.
Instead the RINOS and Obama have some theory where they will only deport serial killers caught on CCTV.
