Heres a story you might not have heard much about Illinois economy is falling off a cliff this year. In late 2012, the state seemed to be undergoing a modest jobs recovery. But since the beginning of calendar 2013, the Prairie State has lost more than 110,000 jobs...

thank God wisconsin took the entirely opposite path.
Good. I hope every Obamabot piece of excrement loses its job, home, car, health.
SO happy to have kissed that place goodbye six years ago.....sayonara, suckers
I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Day by day, the signs go up - for sale, for lease, relocated (and always to a smaller building)? People losing part-time jobs that were once full-time jobs is not uncommon. What a basket case of a state.
I want to move but have to convince my wife first. She is originally from Brasil and has only lived in New Jersey and Illinois. She thinks all states are the same. I’m working on it.
4 more years and we are out of Illinois. I hope things hold together that long.
Illinois.
Detroit II.
Coming soon.
California...er...Mexifornia.
Mexico II.
Coming soon also.
Liberal economics hard at work...
There are some (insiders) in State Government that have suggested that Chicago is so cooking the books about some of these things that even the published statistics and economy for the entire state are grossly optimistic. Optimistic? Yea. It’s even worse than they are reporting.
Chicago is using its own standards to report jobs, employment, revenue and expenses. They are using accounting tricks to move bad info off of sheets and bolster those numbers that go into the state wide calculations.
I just can’t believe there is layer after layer of corruption in and around Chicago. I’ve never heard of such a thing.
I have maintained that socialism is the best method for destroying an economy, Obama knows that, he is not a socialist but knows a good weapon when he sees one. Just appoint the right "geniuses" who really believe socialist crap to speed the destruction along and puuuffff - TRANSFORMATION (USA >>> Kenya)!!
Well, if it weren’t for the crime rate in many areas of Brasil, I would retire there and follow their football teams even more than I do now.
My company moved from IL to NC in 2009. I tried self-employment, but ultimately had to find a day job, which required me to go to Madison, WI (180 miles round trip) every day. After two more years of looking in IL, we gave up, and moved to southern WI. There are some VERY nice towns here, and I recommend the state in many ways to Illinoisans, despite the marginal increase in cold.
Everything the Democrats touch turns to crap.
Same for me, as soon as both my sons are out of high school, we’re outta here!
Brasil is my ultimate destination, probably in two or three years though we could go there now. My wife's hometown isn't exactly crime free but it is far better than most of Brasil and the weather is about perfect year round. She is a soccer fanatic too.
If Illinois becomes Detroit can California be far behind?
“sayonara, suckers”
Some of us stand our ground to fight where we are. Others run away and hide in the woods, pretending to be badass.
I was taught to run towards trouble, not away from it.
We stay and fight. Yes, it’s a struggle, but anything worth doing is not going to be easy. If it was, everyone would be a winner.
Good luck on running away from your problems.
That is a very shallow and unfair criticism.
There are times to stand and fight, there are times to withdraw to fight another day, and there is the wisdom to know the difference.
I’m afraid things will have to get much worse in Illinois before enough people come to their senses. Not everyone can afford to wait for that day unless they are willing to live in poverty.
Prairie state my ass...
