Your post brings to mind a quote from "Starship Troopers", when Professor (later Lieutenant) Rasczak was trying to get through to his dumba** students what it meant to be a citizen:
"All right, let's sum up. This year in history, we talked about the failure of democracy. How the social scientists of the 21st Century brought our world to the brink of chaos. We talked about the veterans, how they took control and imposed the stability that has lasted for generations since. We talked about the rights and privileges between those who served in the armed forces and those who haven't, therefore called citizens and civilians."
Even at their advanced ages, a bunch of WW2 vets with their M-1s would be cause for our mealy-mouthed, wussed-out so-called "leaders" to pi** their pants or skirts in fear. Yep, let's given 'em their weapons back...maybe they can instill a sense of what it means to be an American in our sheepish fellow "conservatives".
