:O)
Yep. Floating on an ocean of magma on what is more or less a big, spinning iron ball magnet in orbit around a MUCH bigger magnet whose magnetic field is about to flip.
No reason to think that the sun has much effect on us in any way, but I'm sure a few scientists will find such an arcane event mildly interesting.
Wahoo!
YOu two will enjoy this....check out the solar winds or maybe even a CMe?
anyways gives you complete perspective of the two comets!

No doubt...that gave me a perspective I never seen before for sure!
anyone want to speculate on the Texas and Oklahoma quakes today?

They won't be unaffected. They will starve.
Here is a link to a guy who posts lots of videos on ISON as well. Some pretty interesting... Some pretty far out there (no pun intended)... ;)

An area in Texas has had six small earthquakes in the past week. They are of the opinion that is due to fracking. Never had a bunch like that before. Wonder if New Madrid is about to blow?
For the past several hundred years I have noticed a pattern of about 30 year increased volcanic activity and earthquakes, ending with a large volcano, and then a more quiescent period for the next 70 years. Perhaps we will have a big volcano like Tambora (1815), and Katmai (1912) very soon??
If Yellowstone goes full blast, most of us will starve with the volcanic winter.
We had Pinatubo in the mid 90’s. Was that the big one for 50-70 years? I hope so.
I don’t remember the exact figures for the 4 big ash falls, but the Yellowstones were around 2 million years ago, probably the largest, 1.3 million years ago, and 640,000 years ago. The Long Valley was a bit more than 700,000 years ago. Would be interesting to check correlation of Long Valley and most recent Yellowstone with start of Ice Ages back then.
There also has been a big one at the beginning of what appears to be about a 30 year period. Laki Fissure event in Iceland 1783 to Tambora 1815. Krakatoa 1884 to Katmai 1912. New Madrid earthquakes and others 1811-12. My brain cells are going to sleep, and I can’t think of the others that fit. Good Night.
I saw a topic about that fracking claim, it’s bogus, just like the rest of them.
The early 19th c New Madrid quake was a rarity, but if it goes, it goes; if damage is bad, we’ll see once again that Zero doesn’t care about what happens to any of us.
Based upon the past eruptions’ timetable, I think it’s overdue.
Famous old Woody Allen line:
“I don’t mind dying; I just don’t want to be there when it happens.”
we should know soon enough....
