The most likely scenario is one of our enemies corrupting the internet. That will shut down everything and it will be instant. You won't get a warning, just suddenly you are isolated. You could get in your car and go to the grocery store and find chaos already there as credit cards don't work. Nothing works. What you have is what you have stored and maybe you have food plants growing in a garden. Maybe you have a generator and some fuel for it but that won't last long and you can't buy anymore.
And, your Obamacare insurance card is worthless - oh, wait, it's already worthless.
