I was going to Daniel he hasn’t lost his touch, but as I read through this, I think he’s even improved in the last year - more scholarly - at least in this essay.

Utopianism always requires mass murder

Great commentary.

obama is a universalist where the perceived “underdog” is alright right and those who think the US has innate greatness are evil.

The commentary also elucidates why so many stupid Jewish voters vote against their own interests.

so, here is my breakdown:

Constitutionalists = good, Communists = bad
Judaism and Christianity = good, Islam = bad

Naivete is the handmaiden of tyranny. Wherever there are idealistic Utopians there are predators who use them for nefarious purpose.

Listen carefully, and you may hear where a great many lines are drawn in our world.

The Sultan is, indeed, getting better at his profundity, his economy of language and plain writing skills.

ABC—Accuracy, Brevity, Clarity. We drummed this into the heads of every student at FITCPAC (Fleet Intelligence Training Center, Pacific).

Sultan may have attended. If not, he learned it somewhere else.

Bravo...

Finally, some explains the Jewish conundrum, why American Jews always seem to vote against Israel's interests.

And what else were they supposed to do when the lessons that they drew from the Holocaust are that the underdog is always right, that people in uniforms are bad and that you always have to stand up for minorities.

The problem is that on a personal level it's more fun being a brain-dead utopian liberal than being a realist. And that's why we can't trump these folks with history... a million times and they won't see it because it's not 'fun' to live in the truth. Time to re-think our incentives.

The Jewish Universalists lost faith in G-d, but they did not lose faith in humanity.

There is a name for people who think that way. They're called (proudly, I might add) "Humanists."

My only success with these idealists has been in convicting them of their sinful state. They cannot abide the notion they are not ethically blessed.
The human condition does not allow this kind of delusion. The conviction of sin is the beginning of wisdom.

They put man above God, and that’s fundamentally flawed. No good ever can come from that.

Finally, some explains the Jewish conundrum, why American Jews always seem to vote against Israel's interests.

Another way to put it is that the religion of most American Jews is Leftism, not Judaism. They are JINOs. Most Orthodox Jews are politically conservative.

I absolutely look forward to Dan Greenfield's articles - the man is absolutely masterful in how he frames a debate and then guts the other side.

Thanks, Louis, for posting the Sultan's articles. A proud nationalist, Zionist and Jew

. . . [I]t isn't the Holocaust that motivates them. The Holocaust has been hijacked and distorted as another teaching tool for the left. Its history is one where the Jews happen to stand in for Native Americans, African-Americans or any other victim group, but have no identity, motives or interests of their own. The dead Jews are empty symbols with no tangible claims on the past or on the future. They died to teach us to be better people.

Wow. Just . . . wow. This is beautifully stated. He has put the thoughts I've had for years but couldn't articulate into a flawless paragraph that encapsulates everything.

There is only one disagreement I have with this article, and that is that the Universalist Left has no quarrel with, and even promotes, the nationalism of the "oppressed" (Blacks, Hispanics, "Native Americans," etc.). Even Israel was supported for a short time by the International Left, and by the American Left until just a few decades ago (Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden entertained Israeli troops during the Lebanon war of 1982, when right wing Mechachem Begin was PM). Of course, the American Left finally caught up with the rest of the world, but the result of that has been to support Arab/moslem nationalism.

On the Far Left today only Bob Avakian's outfit and the formerly Hoxhaist (Albanian-line) Progressive Labor Party (which opposes all nationalism, including that of the "oppressed") are still class based and truly "universalist."

But the good Sultan is definitely correct about the Universalist holocaust against any and all nationalisms held by the "oppressors" (even the poorest ones).

Nicely written. This ideological bifurcation is seen in the gun control issue as well, for the very same reasons. Why concentrate on self-defense when the idea is to create a world where it won't be necessary?

Because such a world is purely imaginary, that's why.

And the notion that one must always side with the "underdog" is nonsense. It leads to the conclusion, as Greenfield points out with regard to Israel, that one may only defend oneself so long as one does not succeed. Suicide is self-sacrifice and self-sacrifice is noble. Maddening.

"Why concentrate on self-defense when the idea is to create a world where it won't be necessary?"

RIGHT, and you could substitute self-defense with other words like patriotism, religious truths, family structure .... anything that causes differences of opinion worth fighting over.

The progressive utopian (the United Nations, the One World Government proponents) understand that there can never be "peace and unity" as long as there are absolute truths. For people will be willing to fight and die over absolute truths such as religion, patriotism, family. But if everyone could be convinced to accept the idea of relativism (there are no absolute truths),then and only then, will we have world peace and unity.

And so the Godless elitist-that be have been working towards that goal, billing it as a Utopia and doing so they must destroy the Judea/Christian beliefs, all sense of family and moral structure, any sense of right versus wrong, bring all nations under one World Government, and water down all religions to one universal religion that leaves God out. And they firmly believe that obtaining world peace and unity is worth this.

I think most of us here understand that living in a world without such truths as Christianity, family structure, moral values and ethics, and patriotism for a country that will allow the above, would not really be a utopia but rather a pure hell.
