What were your symptoms? What kind of surgery did you have? What kind of recovery time did you have?

Sharp pain in the lower right abdomen when pushing on the LEFT lower abdomen (hydrostatic pressure transfers forces to the appendix on the other side.)
Low fever.
Anorexia. Feverish. Pain may start around bellybutton and then migrate down to the right lower abdominal quadrant.
If we are talking about a woman the pain may be indicative of an ectopic pregnancy or a cyst on the ovary.
If caught early it can be cured by way of laproscopic surgery that comes with a minimal recovery period.
Wait too long and it perforates you will be in the hospital for a few days to receive IV antibiotics. Once it perforates you may have a secondary closure, and that is not fun.
Go in and get checked. That is the prudent thing to do to minimize the chance of a complex recovery.
The older one gets the less likely to have an inflamed appendix so the medicos tend to dismiss it in old folks. The older one gets the tougher it is to convince the docs in training to even give you a CAT scan.
Not right side, upper left side.”
that could be a twisted or obstructed colon.
If it hurts like h.e.l.l. and you haven’t taken a good dump today, it may be your colon.
or cancer. That’s where my hind goes.
Just had gall bladder removed 10 days ago. Still in recovery. What do ya need to know?
Yes, it is no big deal.
I had fever a week before that felt like the flu. I went away and I came a week later and I had back pain on the side and pain on my side in the right lower area.
lol
yes, a perforated appendix. Doubled over in agonizing pain with no warning. Had peritonitis and was up and walking after the 2nd day. Back to normal in a few weeks.
I had lower left abdominal pain for an entire day, kept taking aspirin, Tylenol, Tylenol with codeine for about 12 hours.
I thought it was just an intestinal virus.
My husband figured it out and we went to the hospital around 11pm. By 5 am they told me it was my appendix. They took it out about 12 hours later, discharged the next day, and was FORCED back to work within a week, even though I was still in pain.
My commute was an hour and a half each way, and I had to put a pillow over my abdomen so the seat belt would not hurt.
No one gave a darn about that, “we don’t care if she’s in pain driving to work and back”, was what I was told.
I had note with me when I was forced back to work that said I wasn’t allowed to lift anything - indefinitely - they were not happy about that. They should not have forced me back to work so soon!
I think you need about 10 days to two weeks recovery before you should have to do anything strenuous.
I had one two years ago in March. I went to bed about 2 am, got up once every hour or so to vomit. Stomach felt odd so I stayed in bed and did not go to work. I felt my right side remembering that I had heard somewhere back in time that if you press down and it doesn’t hurt but it hurts when you let go of the pressure that it was appendicitis. That happened. I went to the app itriage on my iphone and looked up the symptoms. Yep, itriage confirmed my symptoms and I called my husband to come take me to the hospital.
We went to the hospital and they confirmed it and I was in surgery by about 3 in the afternoon. They caught it before it ruptured and I was out of the hospital in less than 24 hours. It took about 2 weeks until I was back to normal.
If you suspect it, go to the hospital.
...and vote a straight demonrat ticket.
i have someone else do that for me sixteen times
Dull, aching pain in right lower quadrant for about 12 hours. Called family doc and was advised to go to ER. (This was on a Sunday morning of course.) Diagnosed with appendicitis. Had surgery before noon same day. Discharged from hospital next day around noon. Changed flat tire on my car in hospital parking lot then went to work. Nothing to write home about.
Yeah. Bad pain in the gut that just got worse for about 4 days until I couldn’t stand it any more and went to the ER. Don’t wait. If you have a stomach ache that lasts more than 24 hours just go. The longer you wait the worse it will get and the longer your recovery. As it was, it hadn’t burst or become infected yet. Had about a 3 inch cut in my abdominal muscles that took about 3 weeks to heal up. The first week or so it’s pretty painful to get up and move around. Hopefully you have someone to help you for a few days at least.
No, but the USA could use an Obamadectomy.
