The CT cop told him, “I cannot wait to get the order to kick your door in.” This comment comes on the heals of another story in which a CT Lieutenant told a woman over the phone that she was anti-American

Cops by far and large are cowards. Columbine High School here in Colorado had a hundred cops hiding behind their cars while Harris and Klebold killed their follow classmates. Big tough guys, hiding behind their cars with their guns while unarmed teachers and defenseless children were slaughtered.

Yes, except any rifle plates, but those are small and only cover about a square foot in the front and back. A 223 will penetrate all but the plates as well.

I saw a job offer on the Branford Police website: 49,000-63,900 plus OT & benefits.

57 x an average of 60,000 = $3,420,000

PLUS benefits and overtime. I'll bet the Branford taxpeasants are paying anywhere from 6 million to 10 million a year for these guys, and for all the 52-year-old retired donut-eaters.

Boy, I went into the wrong field in college...

Yes, and meanwhile I’m willing to bet that the average yearly income of the local residents is not on par with that of the police there.

You’re right —

They are afraid to do anything by themselves — they always wait for back up and everyone else to arrive. After they have the numerical advantage they then act like heroes — aka Swat Team.

This was evident at Sandy Hook. While 6 cops were chasing one unarmed guy into the woods, they were hearing gunfire coming from inside the school where the kids were — and yet none of them even bothered to stop and go to where the shots were coming from.

It was the safe choice to stick with the group and gang up on one guy rather than go into the school and face the shooting and help those kids — even though that is what their police protocol called for.

That is the story of Sandy Hook —

A good response to that cop would be:

“And I just can’t wait for your political masters to be voted out of office, so you can look for work in another state.”

I think the Founding Fathers might have mentioned this stuff in the Declaration of Independence & the Constitution:

Something about "swarms of Officers [harassing] our people, and [eating] out their substance", and an Amendment about "Quartering"*...

*"In 1765, the British parliament enacted the first of the Quartering Acts, requiring the American colonies to pay the costs of British soldiers serving in the colonies, and requiring that if the local barracks provided insufficient space, that the colonists lodge the troops in alehouses, inns, and livery stables."

Geez. King George should have just forced the colonists to pay the King's enforcers an exorbitant wage, so's they could just BUY great housing, like they do now with the 25/30/35/40 an hour wages paid to the present-day King's Men in Connecticut and everywhere else.

That way, I'm sure the Founders wouldn't have had any objections - would they?

Again, a theoretical follow-up question: what about 300+ grain 45-70?

Meaning, are more people fed up and willing to stand up to tyranny now as opposed to then?

There is a lot of hot air out there about what's going to happen in the event of such a widespread confiscation attempt. The first line of defense after the ballot box is probably going to skip over the jury box and go straight to the cartridge box but only for a miniscule number of individuals. Assume for the sake of round numbers that there are approximately 100 million lawful gun owners. Of that number I completely believe that at least 90% will roll over, show their bellies and beg the government not to hurt them or especially their families. A lot of bravado has been aired by folks who probably would have put up a fight.... when they were in their 20's. But now, getting close to retirement with mortgages, college educations and pensions on the line, the voices aren't quite so strident. Besides, who wants to be among the first thousand test cases to see if it's real?

Still, that remaining 10% will be composed of at least 10 MILLION hard core gun folks. Folks with prior military or law enforcement who know what it feels like to swear an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic even at the expense of one's own life.

Remember the great post Katrina gun grab? Everybody (me included) thought the ragin' cajuns of Louisiana would put those cops and national guardsmen into their graves. Didn't happen. Though the national guard groused about the detail, they didn't mutiny wholesale. Not at all. Perhaps the vital difference was that Katrina was perceived to be a temporary emergency that would allow an eventual return to "normalcy" whereas the issues in CT appear to be more long term. A bright spot on that horizon is that in similar fashion to Colorado, the law enforcement community is stepping forward to defend the Constitution. But not enough of them. In Colorado, the numbers are near to 100% but in CT so far only about 20% (250) of the State Police ranks have signed an open letter refusing to enforce the law. That's good or bad. Good for the ones who signed, bad as an indicator of the level of tyranny that might already exist where the government's guns are concerned. Among local law enforcement, especially. Those guys are caught between a rock and a hard place. Imagine what kind of courage it's going to take to refuse a lawful order when you're only a couple of years from retirement? Loss of your entire pension and perks? For your loved ones? Imagine going into work one day under those circumstances and be told by the watch commander: "Here are the lists of gun owners in your neighborhood. They have refused to surrender their weapons. Go get them. Or join them with your family."

The real rebel forces, if they are to appear will be among the ranks of the retired or former military in a state, especially those who were noncoms or commissioned officers or the Warrants in special forces. Eric Rudolph drove the FBI crazy for six months or more (maybe it was more like 2 years) and his only training was that of an infantry private first class. Imagine what several thousand PO'ed SEALs, army Rangers, and other special ops types could do. Army special forces is the only force in the world that has as it's primary mission conducting combat operations against a large indigenious force using local militias they recruited and trained from among the populace. Do a search right here on FR for a thread I posted back during the Clinton era titled an "Open Letter from a Green Beret" drawn from the pages of the Special Forces Resister news letter. It will give you chills to read it...

We had a cop like that in the town where I had a business in the 80’s. Specialized in rolling stop tickets at the local shopping center (i.e. the sign was on private property). Most of the other cops couldn’t stand him. He ticketed me once for some stupid thing.

Long story short, a local carnival came to town and he was scheduled for the dunk tank. My business partner and I snuck in late at night and were peeing in the tank when a spotlight hit us. It was a cop we both knew. He asked what the hell we were doing, and we told him “Scafide (the idiot cop) is gonna be in here tomorrow.” He said “Keep and eye out” and peed in the tank as well.

Dead stop. Too low a velocity. Try something with at least 3,000+ fps or 500 grains or better.

Ah, thanks! I didn’t know the specs on such protective items.

You can get 500+ grain loads, just not fun to shoot. I guess the next best tack is to aim away from the protective gear... Or use something faster.

I most definitely see your point. The 10% figure you give, I feel, is very accurate as history has proven. 10% would probably be on the high side. However, if there’s civil unrest and the only line of defense is with your firearm, USA citizens may cling to their firearms as they would their generator during a prolonged power outage.

We have a few “advantages” that I hope would double the 10% figure to 20%...our freedom and open knowledge of history. Nobody knows exactly how many gun owners would defend their right, but hope as they study history they’ll realize over 200,000,000 (innocent) have died after firearms were banned or confiscated in the past 100 years!! If anyone thinks it will be any different, they’re living in complete ignorance.

There are also many other factors that will come into play...especially the how, when, why? In the middle of the day? Pull you over on the highway? Through severe taxes? Through the IRS? Through hospitals? Cut off your credit, insurance, isolate you and your family? Go to war against another country, declare Marshall law? How I think it will happen...terrorist cells will run rampant in the cities and beyond and the USA citizens will BEG for the government to stop it any way they can...hence, for your safety always seems to work with a desperate, scared populace.

But one thing seems certain...more and more people are being introduced to firearms and more understand the reason for the 2A. I believe we have very scary times ahead of us..something we’ve never experienced or have imagined we’d ever see in the USA. What will it look like? I don’t know but one thing is certain...be prepared, have a good group of friends/family nearby you can trust and pray! Pray daily for God’s direction, guidance and peace.

John Cinque....where his patriotic statement *I WILL NOT COMPLY* ....got him into the limelight

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=se7VtF4Cu7U&app=desktop

“Anytime you hear ‘common sense gun laws’ or ‘common sense gun restrictions,’ it means ‘confiscation’ to them,” he told Visconti. “That’s the only ‘common sense’ thing to the people who are spewing this out. It means confiscation in the end.”

Visconti is the only *hope* out there for pro-gun people in CT....and he has a huge uphill battle.

You leave out a whole large segment of boomers....who are unhappy that they are leaving a mess to their grandkids....a segment of these men are Vietnam vets.....now with serious health issues.....who have decided what the heck....I don’t have much longer on this earth....and will take a stand.

Mike Vanderboegh for one.
