The House Just Did Something Sneaky to Pass the 'Doc Fix'

House GOP leaders on Thursday used a voice vote to pass a temporary health care fix, surprising members.

Maneuvering around last-second snags with some backroom intrigue, House GOP leaders used a voice vote Thursday to pass another temporary patch to prevent a massive cut to doctors' Medicare payments.

The decision by Republican leaders to circumvent the planned roll-call vote caught many of their own members by surprise.

"They voiced it? Oh, my God," exclaimed Budget Chairman Paul Ryan as he walked onto the House floor.

Democrats could have opposed the process and demanded a roll-call vote be taken, but House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had given assurances they wouldn't do that. At the very least, the use of a voice vote does not provide the public with a record of who actually supported the measure and who opposed it.

The bill is now expected to be taken up by the Senate.

This cut was a sleight of hand by the Dems originally in order to make Obamacare slightly less expensive and maintain the fiction of it not being a budget buster.

They always said the money would be returned to the Doctors by subsequent legislation when no one would be looking at the budget or national debt.

One can only surmise that the GOP leadership decided to let the Dems off the hook because they were getting pressured by the doctors themselves and didn’t want to gut the medicare system for their constituents.

There is one best way to get rid of Obamacare. That would be for doctors to refuse treatment to all politicians who have voted for, or exempted themselves, from Obamacare.

I guarantee, Obamacare would go away ASAP.

The next doctor fix will be to fix it that they have no say who they treat and how much they make.

Politicians have to get medical treatment from time to time too. Now I know that the turd in the white house has 6 physicians on standby all the time and when he travels they go with him, but the rank and file don't have quite that level of coverage.

“, the candidate has to earn it by convincing me that he is a [fairly] good candidate”

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but winning candidates do not take stands on issues. There’s a good reason for that. The first candidate who takes a strong stand on something is likely to have it used against him as a bludgeon. Thomas Lippmann, in “Public Opinion” explains why. Using Wilson’s 14 points he works through the wording and who the wording was for and how the many various factions interpreted it. Essentially, Wilson had to knit together groups with conflicting or wildly disparate goals. The wording was brilliant, allowing each to project on its canvas their meaning. Without this approach it was likely that a sudden peace movement and revolts among the allied soldiers on the line could have forced the war to end early in a stalemate. He had to keep the war going and appease those who wanted immediate peace. (Battles were losing hundreds of thousands of men and barely advancing yards. The war seemed hopless. Of every nine men sent to France, five became casualties.)

The candidate who convinces you that he’s your man has taken an inviolable stand on, say abortion, Illegal immigration and/or gays in the military. These will be used as tools by the opposition to generate strong constituencies. When most elections are separated by a dozen, or perhaps a few hundred votes, a candidate simply can’t afford to take stands that will enrage somebody who otherwise won’t vote. So, do you really know what the presupposed RINO will do? Reagan was a cipher to most when he went into office. He only really became clearly conservative once he started acting on his convictions. (Recall, Reagan was at one time a Democrat.)

Bill Clinton and most Democrats simply don’t have convictions. They act according to what the focus group says and then put the most leftward spin on it they can.

I’m beginning to think that the Republic needs a Constitutional amendment to require a roll call vote on each and every floor vote and that once a vote is cased by a senator or representative, that vote can not be changed later.

Yes, any entity connected to the Deception, the deception of the fraud paper instrument insurance companies, and the deception banking and QE, based theft, and robbery.

He was a Deceiver from the beginning, and this theft is covered under the tree of “ACA” from darkness.

If someone is on the ballot from the Green Party or the Looney Party in Boehner’s district, vote for them in November. They can’t possibly be any worse.

Conservatives, more than democrats, are Boehner’s political enemies. Disregard what he says. You can tell he knows it by the actions he takes.

A valid strategy — deny your enemy resources (your vote).
Turn the elite's strategy (fracturing and dividing us) against them.
