On April 9th, Dropbox announced that Condoleezza Rice will be joining their Board of Directors. Dropbox's CEO, Drew Houston, posted the following message: ..We're proud to welcome Dr. Condoleezza Rice to our Board of Directors. When looking to grow our board, we sought out a leader who could help us expand our global footprint. Dr. Rice has had an illustrious career as Provost of Stanford University, board member of companies like Hewlett Packard and Charles Schwab, and former United States Secretary of State. Were honored to be adding someone as brilliant and accomplished as Dr. Rice to our team.
This is deeply disturbing, and anyone or any business who values ethics should be concerned.
Why is this? Because she was a part of the Bush administration? Because she is a Republican and we should hate Republicans? I mean, come on, isn't Al Gore on Apple's Board? He's no saint!
No. This is not an issue of partisanship. It makes sense that Dropbox would want an accomplished, high-level, well-connected individual on their Board of Directors as they prepare for their IPO. There is no doubt that Condoleezza Rice is an extremely brilliant and accomplished individual, having obtained her Masters degree at only age 20 (and a number of other impressive accomplishments).

Well, it appears that leftist fascism will not be limited to homofascism, but will go across the spectrum. What will be interesting is to see if this bastions any traction or not.
They must be RACISTS that hate the idea of a black woman on the Board of Directors.
That is no place for a black person, after all/s
What have they got against Condoleezza Race?
i do not use Dropbox and did not she vote for Obama??
The author is a bald-faced liar. From the article, here is the list of why he hates Rice:
* She helped start the Iraq War
* She was involved in the creation of the Bush administration's torture program
* Rice not only supports warrantless wiretaps, she authorized several
* Rice was on the Board of Directors at Chevron
We’re dealing with evil. Pure evil.
Dropbox is a spinoff from Google. Why would you think that Google wouldn’t be involved in Leftist/progressive goals?
Why anyone would use a “free” cloud service is beyond my comprehension when retail NAS (network attached storage) devices are cheaper than ever and provide the same always available storage options for home users with little more than a basic understanding of computers required to accomplish setup.
“Why anyone would use a free cloud service is beyond my comprehension”
We use Dropbox but the key is ALWAYS encrypt each file that’s in Dropbox. Heck, we never use e-mails when transferring files. Other than that, it’s all hard drives and in-house servers.
Are you having Dropbox encrypt, or are you encrypting the data yourself before putting it on Dropbox?
encrypting the data first before upload.
Ah, good. You’re one of the few who “get it.” Most people think that by virtue of Dropbox encrypting their data that the data is safe when in reality that just means that Dropbox can access your data internally whenever they want or whenever they’re subpoenaed to provide the data.
Personal digital encryption is a critical skillset in today’s online world.
What a pantload. I’ll decide which tools I use. I don’t use Dropbox much because it’s not easy to use, not because of who’s on their board. Does anyone with a functioning brain think this will make any difference?
” Dropbox can access your data internally”
Exactly. Password protect using AES256 protocols. If the pentagon uses that same protocol, then it’s good for us too.
I use Dropbox to share files with clients/collaborators. I don’t use it for backup. Much easier than email sharing.
About the only thing I use dropbox for is to “cloud backup” my photos from my cell phone.
Nothing work related, nor sensitive.
