‘Phony scandal’ update: 3 out of 4 Sunday shows ignore latest IRS revelations

The lack of focus on the IRS “phony scandal” shouldn’t be surprising anymore, and yet, it never ceases to amaze:

Over the last seven days, three major revelations have emerged surrounding the IRS’ targeting of Tea Party groups. Despite the new stories, on Sunday April 13, three of the four Sunday interview shows on the broadcast networks — NBC’s Meet the Press, CBS’s Face the Nation and ABC’s This Week — all ignored them, whereas Fox News Sunday was the only broadcast network program to mention the IRS at all.

Proof-positive of Fox News’ anti-liberal bias!

Apparently ABC, NBC and CBS didn’t think their viewers would have an interest in any of this:

On Wednesday April 9, The Washington Times revealed that a Dallas IRS office was covered with Vote for Obama stickers and engaging in campaign cheerleading. On the same day, The Hill broke a story revealing that Lois Lerner fed tax information to Elijah Cummings (D-MD) who sits on the committee in charge of overseeing the IRS investigation. And finally, the House Ways and Means Committee voted last week to refer Lois Lerner for criminal charges, yet the big three didn’t mention any of these stories on Sunday.

Yawn!

To repeat one of the most egregious examples of bias-by-omission yesterday, Bob Schieffer’s guest was Elijah Cummings, the ranking Dem on the House Oversight Committee who emails suggest was fed information by Lois Lerner about a conservative organization seeking tax-exempt status. Number of questions from Schieffer to Cummings in regards to that? Zero.

Part of Fox News’ Sunday morning coverage of the IRS story included asking why other media outlets aren’t covering the story. Wallace asked an AP reporter about the lack of IRS coverage:

When questioned on Fox News Sunday by Chris Wallace, the Associated Press’ Julie Pace defended the lack of IRS coverage, explaining that “We don’t have a lot to work with.“ Fox News contributor Brit Hume shot her down and argued that “The same set of facts…would have touched off in previous days a media firestorm. What we had was kind of a campfire in most of the media, which was doused before very long, and the story has been basically dormant.”

“We don’t have a lot to work with.” What’s that mean? The White House lost their email address?

The MSM put in the Impostor for al Qaeda, and now
lies to Americans for al Qaeda and the Communists and their Election Frauds.

Can't imagine why.[/s]

While it obvious that there is plenty to report, making sure the media , as Pace Said,“We don’t have a lot to work with.”, is the whole point of stonewalling, cover up and obstruction of investigation, which is precisely what the Obama Administration and Congressional Democrats have been doing through all means possible including , but not limited to, the Department of Justice, Departments of State, the IRS , Congressional Committees and the White House itself.

It's axiomatic in Washington scandals the the cover up is worse than the crime. In the Obama Administration the crimes are pretty serious, but the efforts to cover them up have been of epic proportions.

In the Obama scandals, the Administration's the desperate efforts to cover up and suppress the evidence along with the collusion of Congressional Democrats IS the story that needs to be made public and reported, or at least a major part of the story.

The Media's refusal to report on the scandals suggest that they are also complicit in the the cover up and are colluding with the Democrats to cover up and bury the scandals and to provide propaganda cover for the guilty.

A strong media push to publicize the ongoing Democrat cover up and stonewalling efforts would be a vital part of the story that needs to be told to the American people to pressure the stonewalling government officials to product the evidence they have been hiding and covering up.

Up to now the media silence on the stone walling and cover up has enabled the cover up an allowed the hiding of the information needed to properly report the story.

So Julie, if you truly want something to work with, write stories that expose stone walling and cover up to force the release of information needed to get to the heart of the stories.

In fact, the exposé of the cover up and stonewalling are major stories in their own right, and potentially constitute bigger and more important story than the actual stories about the IRS scandal, the Fast and Furious scandal, the Benghazi Scandal and the many other scandals themselves because the reporting on the cover up and stonewalling documents the obstruction of justice that this administration has relied on to cover up it's misdeeds and misconduct.

When I try to convince my few Leftist friends/relatives that the networks aren’t telling them the whole story on ANYTHING, they always respond with ‘well, everyone knows that FoxNews lies’. Obama (who has NO CREDIBILITY) has been successful at convincing the majority that FoxNews has no credibility. More’s the pity. Where is the ‘question authority’ attitude that used to prevail in this country?

They have to ignore it. This scandal leads all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. People need to go prison and the occupant of the West Wing needs to resign or face impeachment in 2015.

This will be coming to a head here before the end of the year.

For some time, the media has had their marching orders plainly and clearly spelled out for them by odumbo and his ilk. They are fearful of reporting ANYTHING that makes the current administration look bad but will go “tooth and nails” after ANYTHING the conservatives say or do. Media whores at their finest.

at the Bundy ranch incident. (Are you really surprised at I noticed that FOX News was the ONLY media network present that?) There has been very little if ANY mention that the whole Bundy ranch thing was going on on ANY of the other networks. We certainly can't have our gubmint buffoons looking bad now, can we?

The fawning obedience and cognitive dissonance so commonly found in liberals leads to their faithful self-censoring. They can’t handle the truth.

Seems to me that if everyone complicit in this mess had their head on a stick, they could be set up as roadway markers all the way down Pennsylvania Ave.
