As a young adult, I accepted the logic of the admonition that, at a restaurant or elsewhere, no matter how sophisticated its reputation, you never ever p*** off the chef or cook! It has served me well.
Better to suck it up and never return, than expse yourself to abuse!
Better yet, Don't tell them a thing. Simply do it, Courtesy of (name here). What the business supports through donation of their profits is no one's business.
No explanation is necessary.
The participants of all weddings is public knowledge.
Goldwater understood all this and that is why he opposed the segregation under law of the south - local government making segregation laws/policies - but opposed the end result of the legal battles to prohibit segregation under law - the “public accommodations” extension of who cannot “discriminate” (which Constitutionally ONLY means “THE GOVERNMENT” cannot “discriminate”) as if anything that smacks of a “public accommodation” is a de facto government public utility.
Yes THE GOVERNMENT cannot discriminate because it is everyone’s government, but in our Liberty and in the private sphere we, as individuals acting as individuals are not the government, not executing government policy with the power of government compelling others to accept any exchange with us, or compelling us into an exchange with them.
This is not the making of moral argument in favor of ignorant prejudice. It is the moral and Constitutional argument that identifies that is the government to whom the power to discriminate between the citizens is taken from, which is a power NOT LEGALLY taken from individuals acting as individuals, even if their use of that power is morally offensive to anyone.
The extension of the “can’t discriminate” idea from what the government is denied the right to do to what individuals are denied is nothing less than an act of giving the government the opposite of what the Constitution intended - the right TO DISCRIMINATE BY LAW in favor of some and against others, which is what the legal force being taken against the baker is doing.
How about leaving out the sugar and substituting salt?
Civil Disobedience.
Do these homos really want a cake made from this man???
Or... Do they want homo supremacy reign over the lives of other people to serve them like serfs???
Were there no Muslim bakeries these homos can go to and really see the fireworks fly?
